Your life (the details, circumstances, callings, gifts, responsibilities, etc.) are all designed to require of you intimacy with Jesus in order to execute the Christ-Life you so desire. It is obvious to say that the Christ-Life can only be lived as the outflow of obedience, intimacy, and love with Jesus, and your specific situation is set before you to make sure that you don’t settle into something less than this intimacy which is why He made you and me. You CANNOT live your life any other way but in love with and abiding in Him. If you are not, you will fail. He did that on purpose, because He didn’t make you to sail through your days without strife, but to live face-to-face with Him, genuinely loving each other. And that is NOT POSSIBLE outside of Him. —mm
