Songs regarding the GREAT commission

L
Lordoitagain Aug 6, 2012

Several years ago, I had read many different books regarding the multitudes who haven’t yet heard the message. At the time I was somehow producing music on a small keyboard, and making recordings. I’m NOT a musician, and I still don’t know how I was able to do what I did then. The music doesn’t fit any certain popular style. It is basically seven short messages set to music in poetry. In a small travel trailer that I was living in, I spent hours putting together these songs that God gave to my heart. I copyrighted them way back then, just for the purpose of keeping them from getting “stolen” from me, but I give full permission to use them in whatever manner they can be used for Christians to get the message. Feel free to download them, and use them for the glory of God in whatever way that they can be used to inspire hearts in the GREAT commission that God has given us to fulfill. There is nothing spectacular about them, but they are sincere messages of a deep burden for the great need.

THANKS! Yes, that's my voice ... about 15 years ago. On the choral part I recorded and re-recorded my voice on cassette tapes. It took many hours.

I'm so glad that you will be seeing our friends from Kenya!

May God continue to bless His work there!

Thanks for sharing that Lordoitagain.

Great topic for songs and creative lyrical content. Here is one that can hit us where we live.

BACK TO THE STREET

It's so easy to lose the burden - Take our eyes off the fields
Settle into apathy and forget what the harvest yields
It's so easy to think we're finished with our labor for awhile
Kick back and let somebody else go the extra mile

Jesus said Go (Go!) into all the world
Make disciples of all men
We gotta Go (Go!) to the highways and compel them to come in
As long as there's a tearful eye that cries alone at night
As long as there's a weary soul ready to end the fight
As long as there's an aching heart that still has strength to beat
We gotta take this message back to the street
We gotta take this message back to the street

It's so easy to stay untangled in everyone else's life
Don't get involved with strangers - don't get involved with strife
It's so easy to save your own life - resting on what you've done
But Jesus would leave the ninety nine to try to save the one

It's not easy to beat the system
It's not easy to face the heat
But somebody's got to take this message
Back to the street

Words and music by Bob Hartman
Based on Matthew 28:19, 22:9

Here is a youtube link if you would like to give it a listen as you read the lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpIG48kvkZo

Perhaps no one in my generation has had the ability to take scriptures and weave them together in such powerful poetic lyrical weavings as Bob Hartman. A true craftsman gifted by God.

These lyrics are from His heart, Brother Michael.
Thank GOD He gave you this burden and also gave those words with music.
Beautiful, Brother. I'm downloading all of them.
As I listened to the first and the last so far - I felt to say that, How does one know that they have "the mind of Christ" ... and it seems that the answer would be what He came for .. "to seek and to save those that are lost".

GOD Bless you & yours richly!

"Will be great to sing together in heaven!"

AMEN AMEN!!!

Many of us will never get to actually meet each other down here on this earth, but OH WHAT JOY we will have together around the throne with saved people from every tribe and language giving glory to HIM Who deserves ALL the glory and honor FOREVER AND EVER!!!

Be blessed Sister.

Keep up the good work! There is GREAT reward for every soul you help snatch out of the fire.

"Thank GOD He gave you this burden and also gave those words with music.
Beautiful, Brother."

Thank you, sister. I thank Him too for giving me the burden, words and music. I thank Him that I cannot be content simply rejoicing in my own salvation and ignoring the GREAT need of others.

I thank Him also for the many other brothers and sisters like yourself who have the burning desire like fire shut up in your bones for the MANY who have not yet heard to be able to read and hear about Jesus!

God bless you, sister! Keep up the good work! You never know with just ONE of those tracts that you send abroad how many souls will be saved as a result of that small act of obedience.

-Michael
