The greatest hindrance to the spreading of the Gospel and advancement of God's Kingdom in North America is this -
We have chosen to produce spiritual civilians in our churches as opposed to spiritual soldiers! If someone gets offended or upset over anything they tend to seclude themselves, cry, complain, and basically act as if they have been done some great injustice. Often these "great offending difficulties" of spiritual, personal, relational, mental, and emotional stress are ACTUALLY FROM GOD'S HAND. He is expecting those people facing them to develop toughness and discipline in their lives. These times of pressure and stress are how He often trains people for it. When disciplining themselves gets hard..they cry, squall, and abandon the gifts God is trying to mature them. His efforts to grow them up are so that He can use them to set others free. God is not particularly concerned with our comfort. He wants us spiritually, mentally, and emotionally tough so we are be able to defend ourselves spiritually and advance His Kingdom over the enemies.
Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.
