A Glimpse Into the Coming Persecution

Every Sunday evening for the past year or so, a group of about 5-10 high school aged guys and I have gathered weekly at a Taco Bell in town where we come together to study the Scriptures. Right now we are working through the Gospel of John.

This week we were looking at John 7. I admitted to my guys up front that John 7 is perhaps one of the least significant chapters of this Gospel, and that tonight's lesson wouldn't be a very big deal. Yet as God would orchestrate this evening, tonight's lesson became the most significant lesson we've had to date.

We were focused on John 7:14-18, and how Jesus taught that if we are properly related to God, that God would help us to understand Biblical truth as it relates to our desire to obey Him. In the midst of this, I started talking about the corruptions of our hearts that often lead us into error instead of truth. And to illustrate that, I talked about several major cultural issues we see in America and the church. One of those being homosexuality.

Well, a patron of Taco Bell sitting a few tables over heard something of what I was teaching. But as we got into it more, he became very angry, got up, and started becoming angry and belligerent to us in the middle of Taco Bell. I tried to patiently reason and talk with the man some. I spoke some truth into his life, but he just would not have it. He started yelling at us and telling me that as a gay Christian he was offended over what I was saying and that he couldn't believe what I was telling these kids. He told me I was a liar and warned the children to stay away from me.

He finally left in a very angry mood. And what I thought was going to be a very minor evening turned out to provide one of the most teachable moments our group has ever had. From there we went on to talk about a number of things. Including the fact that in America we are living in very historic times, where there is a major cultural shift happening. I told my kids tonight to be prepared. What they saw tonight is a small glimpse into the future, and the violent days that lay ahead. I warned them of the coming persecution.

Just thought I'd share this tidbit...

God bless

Jimmy

Brother,

That is quite a testimony and surely the Lord is allowing us to see the normal opposition the Gospel has in almost every country except North America.

I have reviewed this video from and it is relatively clean. A group of young Christians from Lou Engle's group THE CALL, decided to preach the gospel in a non-threatening way in the heart of Sodomite America; The Castro in San Francisco.

I did the same, right there in the center of the Castro, 30+ years ago, full time for 40 days and nights, with about 30 other evangelists. It was a little aggressive sometimes; I got kicked hard once by a gay Karate Champ where men do not like it; but I was ok.

Generally, the persecution was low key, and our lives were never endangered. In the same place I was, this group of youngsters went to minister to the gay crowds, and were overwhelmed. This was 30 times the hatred and boldness that we encountered.

Every year they are emboldened more and more, and get more violent too, exponentially. If you choose to watch this video, I ask you what would happen if Law and order were to break down? These kids might have well been martyred; torn to pieces.

This will give you an idea of what we can expect. The "gloves" are coming off, and Satan is en-bolding Sodom. It is a little scary, and puts another dimension into our call to Go!...because now, it is more than a adventure trip, or exotic semi-Vacation trip to far away lands. Now, to Go, you may meet Mr. Al Qaeda and pay with your life.

I think people are counting the costs more today, and are making sure that they have heard from God; or else.

Very interesting story. The ante has definitely increased lately. Culturally I am somewhat shocked by this man's public outrage. I live in Charlotte NC which has more churches per capita than anywhere in the world. You would think he'd be very reluctant to say anything all things considered. But the culture has definitely changed. Whoever would stand for righteousness will make himself a prey.

Hey there KingJimmy,
what an awesome testimony! I bet those kids will not forget that experience... ever.

It is sad to hear that man claimed to be a "Christian" homosexual. He probably got mad because he is really at war within himself and The devil fighting to to keep the veil of deception on that man. If he ever read Romans 1:18-32 he would understand that he will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Thanks for your testimony.

Thank you for linking to this video. More Christians need to see this and know what is at stake. Like you said, the devil has a strong hold on many people here in America.

When the truth of the Glorious Gospel of Christ is really preached, and strongholds are attack in the spiritual, this video goes to show that attack is fierce.
Paul, was stoned and left for dead after being carried out the city. And he said "I Count it all Joy!" Amen.

Yup. The kids will definitely remember it. Which in part is why I have chosen to meet in public. So long as Taco Bell exists, they will never eat there the rest of their lives without somehow thinking back on these days.
