I've been married for 27 years and my husband is the only Christian in his family. There was such extreme hostility towards God and anything christian from his family that his eldest sister wouldn't come to our wedding as we were 'bible-bashers' getting married in church! and my mother in law played up because her son was marrying a 'preacher's daughter'.
For 27 yrs such was the hostility towards our faith that we had to step back, say nothing and just live our lives bringing up our children in the ways of the Lord.
About 4 weeks ago our pastor asked if anyone needed a break-through that only God could do to please stand. I stood on behalf of my in-laws, only God can do the work. Our pastor and wife prayed so heartfelt and passionately over the church as we all prayed together - the sound of prayer & praise raised the roof!
THAT VERY AFTERNOON our daughter went to visit her gran & aunties as usual - except this visit wasn't usual!!
They questioned her on her faith and our church, the eldest of my sister-in-law's saying "well, there has to be something in this God stuff - you only have to look at her and how she lives her life, wish my kids were like her!
The youngest sister-in-law then asked if she could attend church with us - and has been every week since and is absolutely loving it.
She feels so welcome, can understnd the teaching and is starting to join in the songs!
My mother in law said to my daughter that afternoon "tell your dad that he is loved very much, we think the world of him and love him to bits"! My husband and I are in absolute shock!!
His sister visited us a few days before coming to church and was sobbing, we prayed with her, read scriptures to her and gave her a bible, which she is still reading!
We are now praying for her to come through to full salvation, which God has promised 'He will complete what He has started' and He sure started this one!! She asked us to come! After all these years just living our faith God is breaking through and softening hardened hearts!
My husband never dreamed he would ever pray for his sister, give her a bible, be sitting in church with her and also doing bible quizes with her!! He is in a dream!! Praying this is the start of the family coming to Him.
