Lineage of Ishmael

I am doing a current events as related to end times prophecy Bible Study at my Church. Trying to gather some info on the connection between Arabs as descendants of Ishmael. Wanting to find if they were the ones that inhabited Persia which became modern day Iran. Could someone give me some assistance in my search. Can't locate Scripture that substantiate this. I might just be suffering 'researcher's block'. Thank you for anything you might offer me in way of help.

Iranians are not descended from Ishmael. They are not Arabs but rather Medes/Persians, they go back to Noah's son Japheth.
