The towers fell. Did we ever get the message?

Just listened to wilkersons 9/11 message. One of the questions he raises is have we understood the message that God was trying to speak to America thru this tragedy. 11 years now, can we truly say that our nation has gotten the message? Let alone the church? What are your thoughts?
