Why would God inflict injury or possible death with a Hurricane on millions of innocent, folks just to take out one? There are probably a lot of Christians in those millions also, is it ironic? not to me, it's Hurricane season, and Hurricanes are what happens during Hurricane season. What we all that believe in the word of God and love the Lord need to remember is, "ALL" things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. So I am guessing that if God allows a Hurricane to take out people and property as you say or think, if there are folks in harms way that are Christians and love the Lord, it will be for their good.Why would anyone wish death on anyone, don't God love us all equally, regardless of our belief? From what I understand is, the non believers just will not inherit the Kingdom of God. For God so loved the world, I did not see were he mentioned any part of the world or any type of man.

I know this is off topic but do you mind if I ask for prayer. The rain and wind from this storm does have the potential to disrupt lives and impact many people. There will probably be a lot of flooding even if this storm does only come on shore as a TS and not a full on hurricane.

Back in like '07, I sent out a word from the Lord concerning Katrina/Ike/Etc. and the prophetic warning God was sending to America through that time to return to Him or else greater judgements were coming to this land. Specifically, since judgement begins in the house of God, it was a call to the "church" in America to return to God in Spirit and in truth. The whole church back then was crying out for "revival", but wasn't willing to "reform" itself, nor fully willing in great measure to allow the Lord into the deep places of the inner man and follow the Lord with the light He had already given.
I sent out a word on this and shared how I had been to Marti Gras in NEw Orleans a year or two before with an evangelism ministry team. I saw the exceeding wickedness that made Sodom and Gomorrah look tame. I stood on the streets and preached/witnessed to individuals who clung to the dead religion as an excuse to "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die." The Lord showed me the haunts of devils & spiritual wickedness in high places, which controlled that city, which control much of this country which used to name his name, and who had more influence on "the church" in America than she realized (after all, she sits as the whore of Babylon in front of her tv and Internet drinking it in day after day as well).
The Lord showed me and spoke to me about a real "revival" coming in His timing in America, but on the back of great judgement, such as has not been seen before. It was true revival of the kind that the apostate and backslidden church wouldn't even recognize as such, because she is only focused on self, pleasure, enetertainment, and ease. A warm, comfortable, Sunday religion. The current apostate leadership would not be comfortable in it either, cause it would return us to the original NT pattern and the power-control stranglehold of the Nicolaitin "pastor" who Lords it over the flock would be broken.
The Lord showed us what's in Americas heart these days when Katrina hit and the chaos, terror, and haunts and jackals of men filled with evil continuously began to have some free reign to manifest. Notice the difference in the Superdome after Katrina ("hell on earth" with theft, rape, murder, etc.) & the Japanese after the Tsunami (standing quietly and patiently in line waiting for help)? The Lord also allowed us to see the govt.'s only response in such chaos: martial law was implemented, and US military soldiers walked the streets with automatic rifles, collecting people's guns, and being quoted as saying, "I can't imagine having to fire on American citizens. I hope I don't have to."
You see, the Lord again cracked the door to give us a glimpse of what could be far worse on a national level if he fully removed His hand os sovereign Grace. I put out an email and received such disdainful responses, patriotic Americans proud and arrogant (like OT Israel) who said "how dare you say God isn't going to just bless this nation until He comes!!" My friend, David Servant, of Heavens Family Ministries (& Orphans Tear), sent out a teaching on it called, "Hurricane Jesus". People quit supporting 3rd world orphans through his ministry because they didn't want to hear this word. Wow. That's real believers: quit feeding and ministering $20/month (100% goes to the orphans) because they don't want anyone to rock the American dream with a prophetic voice that judgement is coming, and God is the one who will bring it.
Reminded me of Jeremiah. He tried to warn Jerusalem that the Babylonians were coming, that God was sending them, and that they must not fight God's judgements, surrender to them, and repent of their wickedness. What did they do? They locked away the prophetic voice, pressed on in Nationalistic pride, and suffered the consequences of complete Annhilation in their arrogant pride. Jeremiah, the humble prophet of fire was the only one who got out alive.
I'm not saying God did/didn't send a hurricane towards this convention, but to dismiss everything on the basis of a touchy feely "God would never do that" basis, is Biblically, prophetically, and spiritually naive, in love. If that's the case, you also won't understand the coming persecution. We Better all get out of our "mind" and what makes sense to our own sensual, natural, physical understanding. God sends judgements as He deems in His will whether we see/understand/perceive it or not. My Bible says God is in control of the weather. There was significance in Katrina/Ike. There is significance in the worst collective drought right now in US history, especially in the Midwest, which produces our food crops (dried up land, hardened with no rain, produces no "fruit").
God is not up in heaven helplessly wringing His hands wondering how to stop these darn weather patterns that are hurting these people against His wishes.
I also noticed hat your signet says "God Bless Texas". I am from Texas. born and raised there all my life. God moved me out of that place this year. When judgements do come, Texas is going to be an epicenter. Much of it will be he Lord speaking to the "Proud Texan" mentality that don't need anyone, and is more proud to be born in Texas than truly "born from above". Believers from Texas may love where they live, but know exactly what I'm talking about if they are honest. Not to insult you, or anyone at all, (again I was born in Dallas and lived in Texas all my life until this year), but there is a certain spirit of pride in the Texas culture heritage. You know it. God has made it clear that He is going to speak to/deal with that directly in the days to come.
Storms of great magnitude are on the horizon for Texas. I dont say that happily or gleefully (all my blood family and in-laws live there), but it doesn't matter how Imfeel about a matter, only what has God said/decreed? Prepare your hearts for it now and don't be surprised when it happens. The Lord has given me, those with prophetic gifts in our fellowship, and many others (all the way back to people like AA Allen 50 years ago) visions, dreams, and words about this matter. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. The same thing is going to happen to the US as a whole, but the storms that hit Texas will stick out and be obvious to all (who have eyes to see).
It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. I shutter when I hear that statement made on the movie The Titanic. "God, himself, cannot sink this ship.". Such arrogance. And we know the outcome of that story.
Now we have nan again shaking their fist at God and daring him to act n judgement. While all of Florida is under a hurricanes watch. And communities prepare to evacuate. The Republicans will meet in Tampa to nominate a cultist. In the path of an approaching hurricane.
I tremble. Man in his arrogance is provoking God. And the outcome could be dreadful. We do well to heed the word our brother Jeff posted.

For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. No one knows for sure what is of God and what isn't of God. Jeff, you kind of got carried away with my God Bless Texas thing, and you stereotyped me over just a simple thing, glad you know me so well you know my heart. For all that are open minded enough to care, the God Bless Texas thing was not put there out of pride, as some might think, and if anyone else has an issue with it I would be happy to remove it. I know there are modern day prophets, but I have yet to see one predict anything correctly today, so I would use the prophetic stuff very tenderly. Maybe I should change it to, God please rain down your fierce anger on Texas, hey it's drama and anger combined, what most folks desire these days, that should make some happy. What ever happened to just being a good hearted Christian and loving all, as God does, why all the bitterness and anger, and hopes of destruction or Gods wrath? it will come soon enough. Sounds like you have a little bitterness in your heart for Texas, why is that? because we stand our ground and don't go along to get along like some states do. Let be change up your statement to were it sounds more logical:

In love, I care not what stock you put in the words I shared as far as me personally. My heart/conscience is clear. There is nothing in the Word specifically detailing the Tsunami that hit Sri Lanka a few years ago either, but the Lord spoke by the Spirit to a Body of believers to ascend to a mountain high place and pray. That's what saved their lives from the destruction below when the Tsunami hit. There are lots of "so-called prophets" out there, I FULLY agree.

Take it, leave it, pray about it, judge it, whatever as you choose, but the is much more confirmation than my words alone. No bitterness against Texas. My heart resides in heaven by God's grace. I couldn't care less where the Lord sends this pilgrim just passing through. I never thought I'd leave Texas for New Mexico! Are you kidding? Who wants to do that? :-) I don't care where He leads me. Southeast Asia, New Mexico, Texas, Romania, The Congo, Madagascar, Russia, etc. I just want to be where the Lord calls me to go.
That Texas pride is there. Only us "from the homeland" don't see it (or don't care to). I've lived in Dallas, lived in east Texas, worked/stayed in Houston, Beaumont, San Antonio, Austin, Galveston, etc. So why "God Bless Texas"? What about everyone else in the US? How about the world? How about "God Bless YOUR PEOPLE". Should God pour out His blessing on people who hate Him, revile and work against Him and His people, broadcast unspeakable filth on tv/Internet everyday, etc.
We don't see what we have drunk in like water and has become part of our makeup. God is going to send a wake up call of alarm bells (trumpets if you will) & Texas will see great tragedy as she has never imagined. You may not like that. You may not like me (as if you really know me), but it's going to come to pass. I don't wish it on anyone (Texas or anywhere else), but the Lord is God in control, and we are not. And yes, again, God holds the weather, along with all the earth and heavens, in His mighty righteous right hand.

So, if the hurricane doesn't directly hit Tampa during the Republican National Convention, will you come back and admit that your thinking was flawed?
There are many good people living in Tampa and the rest of Florida. I know several devout believers who live there.
If we aren't careful, we will be no better than Job's friends in pondering whether or not God is responsible for death and destruction upon godly men and women. Or, we might be like Jonah sitting beneath a shriveled vine waiting for "judgement" on others.
We should be compassionate...seeing this world as sheep having no Shepherd...and pray that God would have mercy upon others.
Saints I do not wish death or destruction on anybody. I cited earlier in this thread that it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. I am only asking that we think about the implications what God nay be saying through the hurricane in Florida. But also he has spoken to us through a drought not seen since the 30's and an economy on the verge of collapse. Yet the church still slumbers.
For those like Jeffmar who raise a warning through a prophetic word. They are excoriated. Yet the love of Christ. And the responsibility of discerning the times compel them to cry a warning out. At least one's blood will not be on their hand
Saints I believe God is sending us a warning through this hurricane in Florida. This is too coincidental to have the Republicans meeting in Tampa. And have a hurricane coming at them. I suppose we could dismiss this as a random event. Were it not for the man they are nomination is a Mormon cultist passing himself off as a man of righteousness.

The world is not confined to America. There is sinfulness, death and destruction all over the world.
Yes, the recent drought has been difficult for some people living in certain areas of America. It may very well be one of the worst droughts since the 1930s. However, people have been dying from famine, disease and pestilence throughout the world for years.
It is interesting that some are quick to suppose that it is prophetic "judgment" when we have a similar drought in America or an outbreak of the West Nile virus...when millions of people in Africa, India and Latin America die from malaria or other diseases each year.
Yes, America (and Americans) have been blessed with quite a bit, and much would be required of the believers living here. However, hurricanes happen EVERY year. As with everything, I pray that God uses whatever means necessary to gather people unto Himself. At the same time, I also pray for God's compassion and mercy on others. After all, it is His kindness that leads us to repentance.
We should be very careful about raising this -- or things like it -- to "prophetic judgment" status. Over the years, I have seen individuals say the same thing about hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, famines, earthquakes, etc... Personally, I am not worried. I will pray for those who live in areas that are affected are might be affected by such things. And, of course, I hope that such things draw men to God in truth.
However, if God wants to bring judgment upon (or get the attention of) Mormons, wouldn't it be better to send an earthquake to Salt Lake City? What about the "judgment" for abortionists, homosexuals and pornographers? There are plenty of terrible, lost men in many nations because this world has largely rejected or ignored Christ.
A few years ago, I knew a "Christian non-resistance" brother who strongly argued for his positions on many issues. We were discussing the issue of "just wars." He argued that we should not harm others because God loves those that "soldiers are trying to kill."
Yet, ironically, he also believed that God's judgment would befall America. When he spoke of it, he did so with almost eager anticipation. I couldn't help but wonder what happened to the compassion that he invoked when it came to "non-resistance." He passed it off as judgment that he would never stand in the way of. I wish that we would care for our neighbors with the same compassion as Moses or, of course, Jesus.
Of course, there IS judgment for such individuals. It might not come on this side of Eternity, yet it is the fitting penalty for sin. However, I believe that our prayer should be for God's mercy...and that he would draw men to Himself.

But I do read the prophetic writings we call the word of God. Those prophetic writing tell us that you cannot shake your fist at God and their be no severe consequences to consider. The Old Testament is filled with Israel making alliances with heathen nations and not trusting God. The outcome was quite severe for Israel. You cannot make a deal with the devil and not expect God to judge.

First of all, this is a stereotype that you are holding in regard to "evangelicals."
Secondly, an American believer who decides to vote for Mitt Romney is no more endorsing "a Mormon cultist to be her salvation" than we would endorse or look to the religious views of the local supermarket manager to "meet all of our food and water needs."
I shop at our local grocery store because the prices are lower...and the store is managed well. I have no idea of the manager's religious faith; however, he is a good manager. Some people will support Mitt Romney -- despite his religious views -- because they think that he will be a better executive than the current president.
Finally, there is a big difference between "despising" a person (or politician) and simply disagreeing with that person's policies.
Yes, judgment will come to this world. It is in God's timetable. However, I am in no hurry for it to come. I ask the Lord to give me another day, month or year to do what I can to bring the Good News to a lost and dying world.
At the same time, I would be extremely careful of publicly speculating that a hurricane -- one of dozens that occur each year -- is a result of prophetic "judgment." Using that sort of logic, would someone suppose that God must be smiling upon Republicans if the hurricane doesn't directly hit Tampa throughout their convention?
Remember a few years back when the Luthern church was meeting in MN and voted to ok gay leadership? Remember that a tornado came and ripped off the cross on top of the church?

I would like to share another perspective of this hurricane.
Unless you have been hiding your head in the sand you are well aware of the prevailing drought that has affected 50% of the crop land in the USA.
There is one benefit that a hurricane can bring to a drought afflicted area and that is rain. Years ago when we farmed and it was dry, we always anticipated hurricanes knowing their rain will bring the needed relief we so desperately needed.
The odd thing of this is that while those of us inland benefited from it, it also inflicted damage to those in the coastal areas. Then those much further inland may receive rains that will result in severe flooding, but we never experienced this that I recall. Still, if you have deep cracks there will be a lot of place for the water to run to before there will be serious runoff. (You see, hurricane rains start with a slow drizzle and build up momentum as time passes.)
Just thought I would share this perspective that there are those who are watching this forecast with hopes of benefiting from it.
Just FYI - I never said this was/wasn't a "prophetic judgement". I spoke up about the readiness to dismiss any such possibilities & only receive "smooth things" as truth. I believe full well that Katrina was (look at what it showed us), that 9/11 was (the Lord allowed the impenetrable USA to be breached), & that a huge massive judgement is coming in the future to the US. I don't "wish it on anyone", but I'm not control either way, so it doesn't matter "what I want", but what is God saying about the matter?
Chris, are you also not going to check out the coming conference on Coming Persecution because you don't want such things and you just want to hope for the best? I'm not at all being sarcastic - I'm truly curious. I also am probably technically considered "non-resistance" (in the same way Jesus was and told us to be - remember, turn the other cheek, give your coat and tunic, go two miles, etc.), but I am not sending judgement on America Chris - God is going to. I'm just sharing what the Spirit of God has made known to me. There are as many "prophet killers" these days (not physically at present) as there are "false prophets", so that argument goes two ways.
Over 50,000 million aborted babies and we don't think judgement is coming specifically to the US? Homosexual marriage? Child milesters and abuses by the millions. Internet porn made on our shores and shipped around the globe? TBN and wolves deceiving the whole world with a false Gospel and judgement coming is speculation? It's coming dear brother. Instead of trying to reason away the unpleasant events that have beset this country. Things such as the draught, the economy, the rise of sin, natural disasters. We must ask ourselves what is God saying to us. Those who are in the prayer closets get a sense that a storm is gathering in the distance. Sorry, that was not a pun.
To try to reason these things away. Or dismiss them as random events. We do so to our own peril. While we pray protection for those in Florida and certainly ask God to bring needed draught relief rains from Isaac. We cannot ignore the fact that many in this country, evangelicals included, are hoping salvation through a Mormon. This is dangerous. Yet there are many Christians who are so displeased with Obama they will give tbeir allegiance to a Mormon cultist.
A thread was started some time ago about the evils of the Roman. Catholic Church. Yet, we are blind to the evils of Mormonism. We are prone in this forum to speak of the evils of the RCC. But few will acknowledge that the Mormon religion is a Satanic cult. Indeed the next nan in the Whe House could very well be a Mormon.
Barrack Obana sat under the preaching of Jeremy Wright. This man may have been the vessel that shaped Obana's ideas . Wright may have been that instrument who made Obama the Lu real humanist her Iska today.
If Obama was shaped by liberal preaching in the church he attended for several years. What do you think Romney us going to bring to the table. I have repeatedly posted this man is dead serious about his faith. This man is the Mormon's Mormon. Were he not seeking political office he could very well be slated to be one of the Mormon apostles. Perhaps the president if the LDS church. The man has held some of the top leadership positions in the LDS church.
I have asked repeatedly do you think this man is going to shed his Mormonism when he is elected President. This man is very committed to his faith. More so than past Presidents were committed to tbeir faith. And the faith if Mit Romney is a Satanic cult. But I fear many are blowing this off.
Saints please wake up. God is warning us what is going to happen. Do not despise those who speak warnings. But go before the Lord and ask if these things be true. Because to ignore God's warnings brings peril.

I had not thought of this, the rains that come from this storm could actually end up being an answer to prayer for some inland depending on the direction it takes.
