Here Comes Incest, Just as Predicted

If all human beings should have the right to marry (or simply be with) the one they love, as proponents of same-sex “marriage” constantly tell us, then why shouldn’t adult, incestuous couples enjoy that same “right”? Hollywood director Nick Cassavetes is the latest to say, “Why not?”, and I for one am not the least bit surprised.

Simply stated, with the public endorsement of same-sex relationships, the endorsement (or at least acceptance) of consensual, adult, incestuous relationships is inevitable. Consider the following:

I have thought the same.

After this how about rape of anyone to anyone? If all sexual perversions are legalized how safe would anyone be? Jesus tells us that unless those days be shortened no one would be saved. Matthew 24:22. It is not hard to see how humanity could self-destruct by allowing lusts to run amok.

Re: Marriage to more than one person - this was done in Brasil about 2 -3 weeks ago - a man married 2 women that he had been living together with, so he could legalise insurances and other aspects. This was reported on the BBC news channel and has caused outrage in Brasil.

The comparison with old Greece and Rome is an apt one. In ancient Greece, what we call pedophilia was a rite of passage for every boy and girl. Even Socrates, the great moral philosopher of the age, did not condemn the practise. He just said that it was silly for grown men to play with little boys when they should be devoting their time to philosophy.

(As an interesting aside: Paul was quoting Socrates when he said, "The flesh lusts against the flesh and the spirit against the flesh.")

It may be that the ancients will rise up and testify against our generation, because they were born into pagan darkness, whereas our society had the light of the Gospel and wilfully turned away from it.

This is one of the reasons why judgement is unavoidable.

I'm skeptical about this. I looked through my critical and exegetical commentaries looked over word studies commentaries. These are the types of commentaries that specialize in listing such information and there wasn't a hint even that Gal 5:17 is a quote of Socrates.

I did several queries on google with no results. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just may be looking in the wrong places, but if you have some type of documentation on this or can point me somewhere to look on the internet I would be interested in seeing it. :)

I'd be curios to see the source as well. I know there are several other philosophers, theologians, and Pharisees whose words the apostles "redeemed" and even Jesus partially quoted and further perfected, and I always find it interesting/rewarding to find out the background and context of these.
