but the Bereans "searched the Scriptures daily"

There were Bibles. But they were copies of the Old Tesament. Probably scrolls at the local synagogue. But your point is well taken. I might add many in the persecuted church lack a Bible or New Testament. When they get a copy if the precious word of God. Many will weep and hug tbeir precious Bible. And read it faithfully for hours.

Yes brother the Bereans didn't have iphones and computers with the Bible available, they had to travel to the synagogues when it was open and get permission from the rabbis to see the scrolls and they still searched the Scriptures daily. That's why the Holy Spirit called them noble-minded. Also they only had the Old Testament, and here we have the entire thing!
Indeed we are so spoiled, brother. I posted on the Where does faith come from thread that all of these Bibke apps will do us know good unless they are used.
Kevin Turner shared on our Sunday night call about how pieces of paper would be smuggled into Eritrean prison camps. These pieces of paper would have scripture on them. They would mean much to the believers who received them. They were prized as gold nuggets.
One must ask. How much do we value the word.
