What have you been told is the secret to the Christian life? Pray and read your Bible? Go to church? Witness? Speak in tongues? Tithe?

Let me go on record. I do not believe anything on that list even comes close to the issue of how to live the Christian life. All have one inherent flaw. The fatal flaw? Every item on the aforementioned list assumes that it is possible to live the Christian life. Can you live the Christian life? The answer is no, a resounding NO! You cannot live the Christian life.

That list takes for granted you can live the Christian life. Also note that you are the center of every item on that list. Call it "you-centeredness." You out there living the Christian life. You cannot live the Christian life. Jesus Christ could not live the Christian life. None of us can live the Christian life! If Jesus Christ cannot live the Christian life, what makes you think that you can? You can give up trying to live the Christian life! We can all testify what a colossal failure we have been at trying to live the Christian life.

God the Father lives the Christian life. "How does God the Father live the Christian life?" He doesn't. He is the Christian life. He is the highest life. God the Father is the wellspring, the source, the first motion, and the fountainhead of the Christian life.

The Father indwelt His Son here on this earth for thirty-three years. The Father lived the Christian life inside Jesus Christ. It was the Father's life, and the Father's life alone, which lived the Christian life inside your Lord. It is the Father's life, and the Father's life alone, that ever lives the Christian life. It is the Father's life, and Father's life alone, which will live the Christian life in you. Embrace a formula or a list in order to "live the Christian life," and you are doomed to frustration.

But on the day you quit trying to live the Christian life ...then you will finally give Him the freeway to live out in you what is so easy and so simple and so organic for Him to do. Hopefully, you just got set free from a long list of do's and don'ts (the "do's" you can't do, and the "don'ts" you always do). Why look so shocked; stop and think about it. You never were any good at living the Christian life. Admit it.

The Christian Life Is Impossible!

I hope you KNOW by now that living the Christian life is totally impossible for you.

The real truth is that God does not intend for you to live the Christian life!!!! YES!!!!

The true gospel message is that your old sinful corrupt self was actually crucified with Christ on the cross. Christ does not come into your life but He is your Life. You died with Christ and no longer have a life.

God's plan is not for you to live the Christian life but for Christ, Himself to live it inside you and for you. YES!!!!

You do not live for God, He lives for you!!!

When Jesus Christ lived on earth, He, Himself did not live the Christian life!!!

John 5:19, "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."

John 5:30, "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

John 8:28, "Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things."

Do you love God?

I do not know about you but for many years of my "Christian life" was filled with doctrines, duties, obligations, responsibilities, principles, rules, and rituals. (and the such like)

I had NO love for God at all. NONE!!!! After a season of prayer God showed me I did not love Him. Nothing I did or could do would ever be acceptable to God. I knew that I could never produce that love even for a second that God required!!!

This is when God opened my eyes of my understanding and showed me what He had already accomplished in and for me.

Deut. 30:6, "And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live."

I began to see that He already placed His love inside of me by what He had already accomplished for me. I now had His very love, the love that He required me to have and demanded me to have. This was totally an act of His doing and now that I realized this fact I could rest and embrace His love with out any efforts on my part.

Can you see it? As a result of what God in Christ has already accomplished for you, you now have His pure love without regard to anything that you did over ever could do. WOW!!!!

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY PERSON TO LOVE GOD PROPERLY FROM THEIR OWN SELVES.

God's love had to be GIVEN TO US. We could never produce it. This is also true about faith. Have you ever produced any true faith or love by your own efforts? --- I have NOT!!

We ONLY have His love because of what HE Did.

The core of the gospel message is that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit made a Covenant together which is an irrevocable commitment which CAN NOT be broken under any circumstance. This Covenant was made between God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ before the world was created. You did not and could not have any part of it.

This Covenant was not made make with mankind. We are just the recipients and participants of this Covenant. We really have no part to keep other than to just enjoy what He has already accomplished for us. There is no other way possible! God has already totally solved the problem with sin and mankind's condition once and for all. Any attempt you make to fix the unfixable is not only sin but is totally impossible.

As a result of the is covenant Christ takes our responsibility for us. We are no longer responsible, He is our Life. Christ made us able to respond to HIM!

No longer responsible but able to respond!!!!

Think about it.

James 4:5-6 "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

The law demands for each person be completely holy, perfect and be in a state of continual obedience before God but the law itself can never make any person holy, righteous, or perfect. This is impossible.

Rom. 8:3-4, "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Stop now and let this truth sink in. God in Christ has already secured and has given you His obedience. Now instead of trying to be obedient, which is totally impossible you can embrace His obedience that you already have in Him and now participate and enjoy His obedience.

Do you think you need more grace?

You now have all the grace you need. The secret is the realization of what God in Christ has already done in you and for you. This is an accomplished fact. HE is you life. Without embracing Him you are NOTHING!!!

John 15:5, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

God gave you the ability to respond to Him, by His life inside you. He upholds your part of the covenant for you because it is impossible for you do it!!!

You are no longer responsible to do. He is the one who makes it possible for you to even rest and trust HIM.

Respectfully.

How do I LET GO and start letting Him do this Divine work??

I believe what you folks are stating, but I'm struggling with just HOW to get to this point of surrender.

Thanks in advance.

On the day you quit trying to live the Christian life ...then you will finally give Him the freeway to live out in you what is so easy and so simple and so organic for Him to do.

It is NOT about YOU or what you do but it is what God in Christ has already done for you and in you!!!

Look at all what He has done for you and in and simply respond to His embrace!

Look at this from Hudson Taylor.

As gradually the light dawned on me, I saw that faith was the only prerequisite to laying hold of His fullness and making it my own. But I had not this faith . . . I strove for it, but it would not come; I tried to exercise it, but in vain. Seeing more and more the wondrous supply of grace laid up in Jesus, the fullness of our precious Savior - my helplessness and guilt seemed to increase. Sins committed appeared but as trifles compared with the sin of unbelief which was their cause, which could not or would not take God at His word, but rather made Him a liar! Unbelief was, I felt, the damning sin of the world - yet I indulged in it. I prayed for faith but it did not come. What was I to do?

He saw the victory, the holiness, the power and all the fullness in Christ. He knew that the solution was in Christ so he kept on trying to somehow acquire it. He did everything he knew to make it his own but again he only found more failure and disappointment. He saw that it was his sin of unbelief that was the root cause of all his other sins. Then, he found out that he could not even believe. He tried and prayed to believe but no faith came. He was utterly, and completely hopeless.

When my agony of soul was at its height, a sentence in a letter from dear McCarthy was used to remove the scales from my eyes, and the Spirit of God revealed the truth of our oneness with Jesus as I had never seen it before. McCarthy, who had been much exercised by the same sense of failure, but saw the light before I did, wrote (I quote from memory): "But how to get faith strengthened? Not by striving after faith, but by resting on the Faithful One."

As I read I saw it all! "If we believe not, He remains faithful." I looked to Jesus and saw (and when I saw, oh, how joy flowed) that He had said, "I will never leave you." "Ah, here is rest!" I thought. "I have striven in vain to rest in Him. I'll strive no more. For has He not promised to abide with me - never to leave me, never to fail me?" And Dearie, He never will!

When he read this, his eyes were opened to the truth that had already existed. "But how to get faith strengthened? Not by striving after faith, but by resting on the Faithful One. If we believe not, He remains faithful”. This was the secret of what he saw that he had never realized before. He saw that God in Christ had already given him the faith and the belief that was required. God had placed Him in Christ and that he could just rest in God's faithfulness to keep him there.
