Sin, Hope & Deliverance

sermonindex Oct 17, 2012

Groan, Rejoice, Come!

Groan the hearts of men
Bearing death upon their backs
Groan the mind still thoughts of self
Groan the sinews ties and snares
Groan the gaze which seeing never dies
Groan the weight of discontent and foolish lies
Groan the arms, which hands still lend to bear
Groan the tongue, which set on fire by Hell
Groan the thighs, which tremble weighed desire
Groan the day my youth has fled my strength
Groan the man cast on his bed of recompense

Rejoice the Cross-before me set
Rejoice the Way made straight
Rejoice the certain taste of death
Rejoice the light, which lights my day
Rejoice the night to sleep doth make
Rejoice the grave to rest at last
Rejoice the Word my mind to teach
Rejoice the Cross of Christ, tis sweet
Rejoice The Father and The Son
Rejoice The Holy Ghost, are One.

Come ye now ye faithless son
Come ye all come everyone
Come to Christ and to His Cross
Come with dancing tis not lost
Come to certain end and peace
Come to death beneath His feet
Come to resurrection sure
Come to Hope in hope secure
Come to rest and sins no more
Come to Christ for evermore.
