HUGE STORM about to hit millions

R
rainydaygirl Oct 27, 2012

I wanted to let anyone know on the east coast that will be praying for you all. Hope others will join me in praying for the 50 million plus people about to be hit with this storm. Its suppose to make land fall in New Jersey but the path of this storm as it merges with a cold front is going to be huge. People are going to be having a really difficult time of it for a long while with power outages and some very destructive weather about to happen.

Will be praying for all those out there. Trust in the Lord, and know He is still in charge even in the middle of the storm

take care and be safe

I wonder if it is strange for a storm to hit in this way?

It is good to pray that people will survive through the storm, however, I am going to pray that the storm doesn't even hit land. By some miracle of God, it can happen, just like Jesus calmed the storm in Galilee. The big thing is that the unbelievers will know and see the power of God in changing the course of the storm. I would want them to somehow know that the believers prayed, and the storm left.

I'm praying this Country will repent and be able to withstand the storm of Benghazi. While Hurricane Sandy may wash away material possessions, the evil that comes from the response the Whitehouse gave on that attack will lead to hell. God is merciful beyond measure and will save all who call upon the name of His Son Jesus and confess his perfect work on the cross and His resurrection on the 3rd day.

Yes Greg this storm is coming in from a different angle and that is one reason it will be so dangerous. I just really felt the need to pray for those who will be in the storms path.

From what I hear the meterologists are saying tbis could be the conditions of another perfect storm. You may remember that storm that hit the Northeast back in 1991. This became the basis of a movie.

The difference being this storm eill make landfall and real untold havok to property and life. I do agree. We must ask God to turn this storm and preserve life.
We do have brothers and sisters up on that area. Even from SI. If nothing else remember thm in prayer. I think our dear sister MaryJane is from up there. And Diane also. .May God protect and preserve them. May God turn this storm.

I am curious about something. Those who are praying about this storm and praying for safety and that no one gets killed and so forth. How will this storm grow your faith?

I liken it to praying for world peace and of those who do I see them constantly dejected because they are passionate about it but they see no answers. What would give you an answer to prayer in praying about this storm?

Deadn I live on tbe fringes of tornado alley. Tornadoes are a deadly occurrence that take the lives of loved ones and cost much in property damage. When tbe sirens go off in Little Rock I pray for God to turn the deadly twisters and preserve life. I leave tbe theology of it to God. All I know is we are to be about preserving life.

Thus I pray for God to turn this mister storm out to sea and preserve life. If my theology or prayer not be in accordance with God's will. Then tbe Holy Spirit will correct it.

You have asked how praying that God would turn the storm would grow my faith. I could share some stories. But it would be construed as boasting. I believe asking God to turn this storm is the right thing to pray.

How does God say to pray in this situation? What is His will in this storm?

sermonindex Oct 27, 2012

Lesley I think this is one of those situations where one would need to listen to tbe Spirit. I would be constrained to ask God to turn tbe storm and ask God to preserve life and property. I would hope others would be in agreement on this. This is unless God has put in ny heart to pray in another way.

Others may see tbe storm as God's judgement and pray in that vein. I was of a mind to pray that when the hurricane was glancing tbe city where tbe RNC was held. But grew up a little sense then

All I kniw is storms are destructive. Be they hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, blizzards, etc. I ask God to turn and abate then. If not turning them or abating them. Then to preserve life and property. Or at least to preserve life. If I am wrong praying such. Then tbe Holy Spirit will correct my theology.

I am sure Jesus will give you his heart in knowing how to pray for this storm. All you need to do is ask him.

I may live more in the carnal on this issue but I am still wondering how a person's faith in God is enriched by praying for the northeast in light of this storm. The only thing I can think of is a person discerning the push of God upon their heart to pray for something specific or praying as they hear the Spirit regardless of whether it makes sense to the human mind. Then through this experience with God they will know God's Voice more as a result and possible have something revealed to them to show that God was in that Prayer- type of thing.

Bearmaster, you said you live in tornado alley and you pray for God to turn the twisters and perserve life. Do look for answers to pray when that happens or do you simply hope for the best? Is there anything in that circumstance that would cause you to doubt that God answered your prayers in those circumstances?

John i don't have an answer for you right now except to say i just felt the need to pray. i have friends, and family who live in these places and i pray they will be safe. i also pray for the lost, i have heard that 48 people have already died during this storm, no one knows when there time will come to an end here. i know there are many right now who are dealing with fear about the unknown of this whole storm, about what may happen and i know letting them know that they are not forgotten that there are brothers and sisters praying for them helps bring them comfort and encouragement. that reminds me of just how much God loves me too because He has given me the desire to pray for others as well.

any ways just want to say thanks to those who felt led to pray. i'm going to resume my leave of the forum now.

We live in upstate Rochester, NY, and the only media coverage is about how people are going to have to change their halloween Wed night plans. The worst weather in the East Coast we typically experience is blizzards, the cold temperatures and an occasional ice storm which knocks out power for thousands. This is an unusual storm issue that will affect many people, even if its just them without power for a long time. We should pray that the Lord would give us strength to endure the storm and that He get glory out of it somehow. Storms will come in this planet and we need to see it as a way to minister God's love and compassion on others.

I thank God for those who are praying, brothers and sisters.
Even though we know judgment is coming we pray in faith and in hope in the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never will come to the end....even in the midst of judgment, great are his mercies. These are the very days we have known would come on the earth...If the Internet is knocked out, we know we still have the Holy Spirit connecting us as the Body of Christ and I am ever more aware of that. May God protect and hold you close in these perilous times.
In psalm 46 we know that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

In His Love,
Sister Leslie

As someone that has endured storms since the early 50's on the gulf coast, storms are always unpredictable, you have to expect the worse but pray for the best. The worst part about the hurricanes, is the the tornadoes they spawn. My personal advise from being in many is, always have a weeks worth of food and water, tuna and bread for example, stuff that does not require refrigeration. Plenty batteries for your flash lights, candles are good, but can be dangerous if not monitored closely. I can't give much advise on how to stay warm, we always have to worry about staying cool. Northern Tool sells a heater hooked to a propane bottle, but would need to be used outdoors, but they heat a small area outside very well, probably need plenty blankets. All things do pass, and this storm will, lets all just pray that not one life is lost, and if there is a lot of damage, we look at that as a blessing here in Houston, it really does help the local economy a "LOT". Might be good, if Greg or someone, started a dedicated thread, just for prayers for all the folks in harms way. May God keep his hand of protection over the areas this storm crosses.

Even though we are further North, they are saying we could get an early snow storm next week due to Sandy, so we are Batten Down the Hatches. I hope you guys fair well down there.

I personally would like to thank all who are praying with us in regards to this storm. I am in upstate NY, but originally from England and so never been in a situation like this.

We are praying that God would divert the storm - although maybe there is a purpose in this storm. We are also praying for His protection over the communities that will be affected by flooding, high winds etc.
May God be merciful to us.

Once again, thank you to everyone who is praying for the situation. I would ask that you also pray for those who may be fearful - that they would know God's peace and comfort during this time.
