I could see a picture clearly in my mind, and I can see my reflection dimly in a mirror, and what I see in myself I never liked.
Anybody know what this means?

Jenny do you know tbe Lord Jesus Christ as yosavior? Do you have a saving relationship with Jesus? This is what came to my mind when I read your post.
Bearnaster.
Hello Jenny,
Bless you in Jesus' Name. The Word of God is LIVING! That is what separates the Word of God from every other written work of man. It's a Living Word from the Living God all about the Living Lord Jesus. A few scriptures come to mind in regard to your question:
Hebrews 4:12-13
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
When you read the Word of God, it as actually reading you. It is the Holy Spirit's work within you to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Word of God exposes and reveals what is in our hearts. It's a beacon of light shining into the very depths of our lives. The Bibles says that the heart of man is deceiftul and desperately wicked. Our very inward desires and motives are all completely uncovered by the eyes of the Lord Jesus.
James 1:22
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was."
I think this verse clearly describes what you experienced while reading the Word of God. We look into the perfect Word of God as though we are looking into a mirror, and in comparison we see the filthiness of our own image of corruption. The Bible says that "every way of a man is right in his own eyes"...most people think they are living "right" and doing "right" because they only have to answer to themselves. But when the light of God's Word is revealed to us, and when we look into the perfect mirror of God's Word the Holy Spirit reveals that we are truly sinful, wicked and in great need of a savior! The purpose of God's Word isn't to merely show us our condition and diagnose our sinfulness only to leave us in hopelessness, but it's to expose the true need that we have for a savior and then show us God's means of bringing Him to us: the Lord Jesus Christ!
That is why our brother asked if you had a saving relationship with Jesus. In John chapter 1, we see Jesus as the "Word became flesh". The whole Word of God is about Jesus, the Living Word.
I encourage you to read the book of John, the book of Romans and Colossians for starters. There are tremendous resources on this website for digging into the Word of God, and please feel free to post any questions that you may have while reading in this thread. We would love to help you in any way that we can.
Also, ask the Lord to lead you to a group of believers in your local area that you can fellowship with!
God bless you.
It is tough to interpret based on these 2 lines. I would suggest you are trying to see your sinful nature in the mirror when you read Bible. In my case, when I first read the Bible, I got light on what God wants from me. I always knew that I am a failure in meeting God's standard. But never knew what his standard is, and I came to know that by reading the teachings of Jesus.
I am not an intelligent person it’s just the way I am, I have trouble explaining things in words some time I do not see things and God he makes me aware of it. I am saved.
I would like to talk with people on here; if you can help me it would be great it would be kind of you.
I never started to read the holy bible on till I was aged forty five, I had no idea what was in it, and I was brought up as a catholic
Why am I having these experiences? With God I’m nobody.
I will post each experience I have had on this website I will do my best to explain each one. And there all in the bible.
The order in which each one happened to me.
1…Died in my sleep went to heaven I was given a personal message.
2… went to hell
3… seen the helmet of salvation on my head
4….seen an angel he came to give me a message to help me.
5….. Somebody else came to give me a message of reinsurance.
Then I started to read the word of God.
6…… seen picture clearly in my mind of a mirror
7…..I had a vision from God after the vision I could recognise sin whereas before I was blind to it.
8….Convicted by the holy spirit of my sin my old self died.
9… the vision it taught me something that’s in the holy bible and when people read it they cannot see it, after the vision I can see it and hear it.
10… I can discern between good and evil, I can hear what is in a person heart as I listen to them speaking.
11… another thing happened as I am reading the word of God I understood a parable of Jesus my heart jump for joy
Jenny I am touched by your visions. I'm glad the Lord is showing you these things. He truly is wonderful. The saints here can aide you in understanding what you brought up.
Bless you!

I am saved, my relationship with Jesus is phenomenal, and I’m nobody.
When I first started to read the word of God, sometimes I do not see things even though it right in front of my nose.
As I was reading the word of God I realise some thing by reading it that really did shock me, and I did cried out to Jesus in distress and aguish because of it.
I was given a vision by God and after the vision; I could recognise sin whereby before I was blind to it.
The vision changes me on the inside.
