An optically formed duplicate, counterpart, or other representative reproduction of an object, especially an optical reproduction formed by a lens or mirror. 3. One that closely or exactly resembles another; a double: He is the image of his uncle. 4. 1. The opinion or concept of something that is held by the public. 2. A figure of speech, especially a metaphor or simile. 3. A concrete representation, as in art, literature, or music, that is expressive or evocative of something else: night as an image of death. 8. Well, The Godhead is 3 parts- Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Man is 3 parts - Spirit, Soul, Body.

Here is the best example from Scripture and just a few chapters from your question.Genesis 5:1-3 - "When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He create them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them 'man'."When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth."In Christ,-Eli

I have been doing a little research on this particular passage after reading a book called "I need grace to make it". God made Adam in His image, His likeness. When Adam sinned, he distorted that image. God is not sin. In verse 3, it states that Adam had a son in "his own" image and after his likeness. So, doesn't that mean that "we" are created in Adam's image. We are all sinners, right? Just thought it was interesting. Any thoughts on it? :-(

When we speak of man being created in the image of God, theologically we are saying the man shares a portion of God's communicable attributes, such as* moral agency* reason* love* desire for order* personality* etc.In Christ,adam@adamchristiansen.orgwww.adamchristiansen.org
