What would you do?

Our pastor is a "loving" man. He means well but over the years the focus has shifted to almost a completely social gospel. Any form of exposition of scripture is discouraged. Should anyone preach anything he doesn't want to be preached he systematically attacks and undermines such people from the pulpit. He also seems to psychologically manipulate people into preaching a social all encompassing gospel that is no gospel. The pastor wife divulges personal information about members when it suits her to achieve her purpose. Our pastor has actually said preaching the gospel does not work that its all about love (implying preaching the word of god does not work). Any form of teaching of christian conduct and living is shunned in favor of a social gospel that is passed of as a message of love. There are no new converts being received into membership. Our growth in numbers is just the product of recruiting Christians who have moved into the neighborhood etc it is heart breaking to see all this i have tried to subtly raise concerns but its not working, but i will keep on praying.

Unfortunately this is the new gospel which is no gospel at all and it has taken hold of many churches in the world. It is mostly political and is very dangerous. I encourage you to fast & pray about this if you haven't already and ask for God's direction. This is the anti christ spirit your'e are dealing with here. It has been around for a long time & will only get stronger in the days to come. I had to leave my church many years ago because of the prosperity gospel was being preached every Sunday. I still haven't found a church to go to because there are so few that preach the truth & allow the Holy Spirit to move among them. I will stand with you in prayer and hope that they will repent or that God will either move them or move you out of there.

The above post mirrors my experience, as far as not finding a church that preaches the truth. There is truly a remnant and God knows His own.

If you sit in the pew and 'go along to get along' you are forwarding the enemies cause, in my opinion. God says, Come out of her, my people.'

Thats it man,keep praying! I'm slowely learning the power of prayer v.s. my own words. That said, it might still be a good idea to spend time in prayer to see if God would have you sit down with your pastor 1 on 1 just to pour your heart out and voice your concerns supported by any scripture that is close in your heart. I actually have gone through the same thing and I did feel led to sit down with my pastor at the time just saying I thought we were teaching psycology,a gospel without repentance and getting off track from the real call of Christ.My main concerns were "The power of the Holy Spirit isn't needed for this, Jesus didn't do it or preach it and nor did the apostles". I thought He was gonna cry out and say "I was wrong!" and repent but that didnt happen.It didn't go as I hoped but I know the spirit was at work and dispite not seeing eye to eye I got to understand Him more and why he thought the way he did, It actually made me feel even more for Him and watch my own pride because I saw what happens when a heart is truely hardened. Keep praying for direction brother theres a reason God has allowed you to see these things,above all in this situation continue to walk in love and humility. Also it might be wise to seek out fellowship with likeminded people in your church who may be heavy for the same things and pray and interceed together.
