Confusionism

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confucianism
When preaching at our church one of Korean brothers was preaching from timothy and I tried to find the submission and modesty he was talking about in scripture could not find it other than in the works of Confucius.
Confusionism is another faith even thou people can believe in confusionism and Christianity at the same time as it revers the elders and modesty, it believes in one god and not a personal god
The problem is that south Korea is so permeated with the belief that when missionaries first went to Korea had to baptise ladies heads
The thing is if you get a Christian who has a mixture of these two beliefs it can be dangerous.
As Charles spurgeon said someone can have everything up front but there is nothing up back, I would get the quote but I can't
I found it revealing

Confusionism is one of the religious ideologies that cripples the Christian faith of many Asian believers especially Chinese but also Korean etc. It puts strict moralistic bounds and expectations on them and withholds the grace of Christ to be free from human tradition and earthly principals.

Coming from this background I myself have been a product of the damage Confucianism has on people it truly is the wisdom of this world demonic as it says in James.

hi, satans greatest weapons are discouragement and an attack on grace.a fact is we ususally only get discouraged when we in the flesh try to live up to standards of holiness and discipline.we are saved by faith in Jesus and His finished work alone and this is opened up to us by grace alone. after we are living by the spirit of the Lord, we are enabledBy the Holy Spirit to produce acts of holiness.jimp

Are you talking about the philosophy of Confucius or a philosophy that leads to confusion, calling it confusionism? Am a tad bit confused what you are referring to...

I am talking about confucianism what I mean is that most people from China and South Korea practice Christianity but actually more follow confucianism

I minister a lot to Chinese and some Korean Christians. I have lived in Taiwan for a number of years and my wife is from Taiwan. I speak Chinese though I am not Chinese.

Confucianism has preserved the Chinese culture from the decay and anarchy it would otherwise have encountered. It propagates great values, such as respect, obedience and piety. It has similarities to the Mosaic law, but as it is not divinely inspired it has many flaws. There is no atonement, and there are no sacrifices in Confucianism.

In reality Confucianism is often blended with Bhuddism and Taoism which is definitely satanic. This is where it get messy.

Chinese and Korean Christians naturally show much greater respect for authorities and older persons. Chinese hospitality is most generous and very attentive toward their guest.

Unfortunately you also see undue respect and wrong priorities, such as the fact that parents have too much influence on the marriage of their children resulting in many tragedies.

Work commitments often a kept on the expense of spouse and children.

I agree that many Christians have never really broken free from cultural bondages and are crippled in their walk with Christ.

But, hand on heart, how much are we in the west crippled by dualism, relativism, liberalism, realism, materialism and postmodernism?

I agree 100% we have cultural philosophies and more so in the west
Soren kirkards philosophy of existentialism believing in a blind jump of faith and so many other philosophies. We need to question every base of our thinking and even if it is good does it have grounding in gods word. To me it is dangerous if something is highly revered in society.
Religion I think it was dr phil Fernandes is not believing in say god as Buddhism and other religions that do not believe in god. He stated that idolatry is the route of all other faiths as because they did not worship god as god
He defined idolatry as something in which we think about more than god
I am guilty, different world religions and ideologies pervade our time
The reason I bought up confusionism is because I found that it pervades there culture and I have not heard any counter cult or any book as to why it is wrong.
The tendency of me was to think that you can simply have cult movements in the west as we see mormans, Jehovah's witnesses and numerous other groups
It is interesting to see false doctrine come out of cultures we least expect,
How many more wrong philosophies or cultic ideas pervade our cultures
And we should not look to discover them as our main focus should be Jesus of the bible to open our eyes
