Just because God is on the highest throne does not mean He is governing all the affairs of this present evil world.
I believe that God is on throne of the entire universe. I believe He made all things and that He will be the ultimate ruler. But also I believe that the bible teaches that Satan is the god of this world and is ruling much of the affairs of this world system through the sons of disobedience.
I see the state of this world going on a downward course to destruction because Satan is the god of this world. I see a new heaven and new earth coming where Jesus Christ will be the ruler. I believe we as Christians are the salt and light for Christ to reach the lost living on this present earth where Satan is the ruler of the world system.
The present world system will function until Christ takes over. The only thing that has kept the world from total destruction is the mission of Christ’s church on the earth to reach the lost until the Father has saved all the elect from the four corners of the earth.
We must remember that the church’s primary objective on this earth is to call out a people from this world system and to come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are to be in the world but not of the world. We can’t stop this world from destruction but we must be a people prepared for the coming age of Jesus Christ our Lord.
We need to be praying for wisdom from God on how to occupy on this present earth until Christ comes to take over as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. How we, as the church, conduct ourselves on this earth in being lead by the Holy Spirit is most important to God in carrying out His plan on the earth.
