No Longer A Polyanna

G
Goldminer Nov 15, 2012

I have to say I have learned that I have been a Polyanna. Recently I shared a link to the Hobby Lobby owners stand on a "christian" facebook page and got rebuked for using the forum to promote a conservative republican agenda, and that this post hurt people. I will just paste the comment here:

Abortion is a very controversial and for some, painful topic. I won't be having any politicizing of women's health issues on this page. If you don't like it, you don't have to be a part of ______________. This page is primarily for the encouragement of the Saints. If you have a Spirit led prayer directive regarding abortion, please do post. But I don't appreciate any knee jerk reactions to the election outcome to be posted here. Not everyone in this group is conservative republican, but we are all Christians and love Jesus. So let's find ways to encourage one another. Thanks,______

Is it just me, or is this not a murder of the unborn issue which is a christian issue, and not a woman's (christian or not) health issue?

I read this morning about the wicked Israelites sacrificing their children to Molech. I looked up Molech and it means, to cause to reign, to be made king, or queen, to rule, to become king, or reign.

I am sorry this is not about dems, or repubilicans, it is about taking the heritage of the Lord and sacrificing them to the idols of pleasure, selfishness, and convenience. I shared the link in hopes that the "christian" page followers would stand with, and support, and pray for our brother that owns Hobby Lobby in his effort to live his faith according to God's word. I never thought any christian believed abortion was OK.

Just sign me no longer a Polyanna

Greetings Goldminer

I understand what your saying and I to have had some of the blinders lifted recently. For me it has been a time of growing in the LORD and realizing in some ways I was still looking to men more then I had thought.

Your right abortion is not about any political party. IT is the taking of a life, yes it is a very painful topic but it does not change the fact that it grieves GOD deeply.

In a way its kind of sad to see my Pollyanna status go away but then again perhaps its better to see things as they really are it makes me that much more effective in prayer.

God bless and thank you for sharing

Thank you MaryJane that gives me a bit of persepective. I will remember your sage advice. I do have a clearer view of what to pray for.

Goldminer, may I suggest patience on your part...I do not know how one can do it, but if you feel so led you might in a round about way address - on that forum - the underlying issues that drive people to have abortions.

You may be surprised but when I first signed in on SI abortion was also a hot topic, a controversial one. One of the most popular and skilled writers worked hard (privately) to deter me from my position on this issue. Today I am not aware of any abortion supporter on this site.

If you want to know more check out the video "Massacre of Innocence" on YouTube. There you will find out more then you want to know! It is enough to drive you crazy, or, almost.

God bless.

Thank you so much ginnyrose, but I think I know all about it. I have watched videos, I will see what I can do on the other regards. I know I have to speak the truth in love, and share what I know as well. Thanks again.
