Just wondering if anybody has read this Nerosurgeoun's accont of heaven after being in a coma 6 days.
It doesn't sound/sit right with me. Having said that I have yet to look into it, Hence this post.
We are told to test all things and see that they align with the scriptures. Any insight would be appreciated

Hi, I had never heard of him before, but I looked him up on the internet, and also thought he sounded strange. I detect something New Age. I read a short review about his book, and there was not one thing about being born again, or having a relationship with Jesus Christ. I am guessing he either made things up, or has been visited by an "angle of light".
yes thankyou, I was thinking new age also, I didn't sit right with me. If it is not scriptual or legitimate,then it;s a real shame as these types of things do real damage to genuine christianity, and can be misleading. Thanks for the response.
If you do a search on the web you will find many reports of visions seen by people. As you look at these something does not sit right in my spirit. I have concluded the these are indeed from the devil in the form of an angel of light.
Many times these people will say how they sense a presence in a 'being of light' but see no features.
Then there is no mention of Jesus which I find very strange unless of course it is a vision given by the devil.
I have read accounts of people who did have visions who were godly people, who had the testimony that they loved the LORD. These visions are all similar. When they come back they have a burden for the lost and will preach warning people to repent.
After making these observations I find it helpful in discerning which visions are to be accepted as from the LORD and which ones are from the pit.

Yes, as with any gift of the spirit, satan will counterfeit it. So, if there is a counterfeit, you can bet there is the real thing. Angels of light can be so deceiving, because they don't come with horns and a pitchfork. People in the world are hungry for the supernatural, which is scarey because they open themselves up to all kinds of things.
I agree with you, look at the fruit. Did the dream, vision, etc, draw them closer to Jesus, and give them a stronger walk with the Lord? I have heard people say that the best way to "judge" a manifestation is to ask the entity/appearance of something to confess that Jesus is Lord and has come in the flesh.

I mentioned a similar point in one of the similar threads. What is the use you see your dead ancestors but not the one who qualified you to be in heaven?
If reading about Heaven makes one to believe in Christainity then the person is unworthy to be a Christian. It is ok for a new believer to read such books and to get cautious about their soul going to hell. Coming to repentance in the fear of hell is different from coming to Christ for going to Heaven. Heaven should not be our motive. Heaven is a byproduct of being saved. It is not the main thing.
Brother Zac Poonen once said that if Jesus came and took me to hell then I will be happy to be with him there. I don't want a heaven if there is no Jesus. If we love Jesus truly then this should be our testimony as well.
Also the Book of Revelation gives us very clear picture of Heaven from what we are supposed to know. I believe more than 90% of Christians have never read this book because the Devil has blinded them. That is why they grab wrong theologies like you no need to repent after believing in Christ etc.
