One of the biggest misconceptions about healing is that because I have a pain or sickness I need God to heal me. But, let me give you an example or parable-let's say a person is hungry so they go to a resturant, the waitress takes their order, goes back and gets the food, and brings it to him and puts it on the table. Now, once she provides him with his order he is considered served. Now, the food is right there in front of him, he can see it, he can smell it, he can feel the heat coming from it, but is he still hungry. See, just because he's still hungry doesn't mean the provision hasn't been made. And until he receives that which has been provided he will stay hungry. Likewise, when God says "By whose stripes ye were healed" he's informing you of a provision that has already been made. Just as salvation has already been provided so has healing been provided. Forgiveness of sins and healing go hand-in-hand, they are one complete package. In Psalm 103:3 notice it says, "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." Notice in 2Peter 2:23 it says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Notice they are both benefits of the cross.
And just as you receive salvation you receive your healing. God's trying to get you to receive healing and people are trying to get God to do the healing. But, the provision has been made. Just as the blood purchased your salvation it also purchased your healing. So, healing belongs to you because it's been paid for. Just like that food is real in the parable even though he is still hungry, why does healing have to be any less real just because you have a pain or sickness. Your healing is just as real as that food. And God has made it so that you can receive your healing. One way is found in Proverbs 4:20-22, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." That word health is translated medicine, remedy, cure. And just like natural medicine has to be taken according to the instructions so does God's medicine. And if you are deligent to follow God's instructions you can receive your healing. Healing is on the table, it's already provided, receive it.
