... sin in the world

M
MaryJane Dec 18, 2012

As many others who live in Connecticut the tragedy of Newtown and the Sandy Hook school shootings has left me struggling with the daily news stories coming out. The skies have been dark gray, and stormy and there is just a weight that seems to be hanging over many. My heart is breaking for these families and their lost loved ones. I find myself unable to hold back the flow of tears at the moment, seeing the pictures of each victim, seeing the funerals begin to unfold all I can think to do is pray and hold fast to the truth that GOD is still in control and HE loves them all so much. As a parent I can not imagine what those moms and dads are going through, how their arms must ache to hold their lost child, how their hearts must long for the hands of time to rewind so they could have just one more moment with their little ones. So many lives were changed last Friday morning and I am reminded again time is so short and this world has such great need for JESUS. There are many looking for answers, there is a desire to place blame for how something like this could have happened and yet a denial to see the very simple but true answer in front of us all... sin in the world. Apart from CHRIST, anger, bitterness, rage, hatred will take root in the hearts of men, it will blossom, and grow and sadly pain and suffering through violence around the world is the result. I pray that many will come to see their need for JESUS in the days and weeks to come. If you feel so led please join me in praying that GOD might open the hearts, to soften the hearts of those around you, that they might repent and cry out to HIM and JESUS be LORD of their lives...only then we will see a true and real change in the hearts and attitudes of men. Only with CHRIST will love endure, and true healing happen.

God Bless

Bingo! Sadly a large portion within the group to which you refer are professing Christians. Many statements I read on this and other Christian oriented forums concern me greatly.

Praying.
