My post stands. How can my testimony have the power of Jesus Christ when by my very association with this site I am seen to support that which I consider to be wrong?

I live in Phoenix and have been to Canaan in the Desert many times, what a blessing these precious sisters are!

They live completely by faith and they are simply devoted to Christ. They do much towards the advancement of His kingdom. There is a profound sense of God's blessing upon them.

When I have a pressing issue come up and need to just spend some quiet time with the Lord, I often go to their prayer garden and meet with Him there, it is wonderful.

They have a small chapel where they hold some simple worship and prayer services, very humble and very blessed. They also offer many books and pamplets from Basilea Schlink that have been challenging and encouraging to me, you take the books on the honor system, leaving a donation in a box.

Also, I believe they may have ties to the Moravian church because they do have in their chapel a picture of the Moravian seal of the Lamb holding the banner of victory.

I thank God for this testimony that He has planted here in Phoenix.

Believe me, I know the darkness that is in the RC church so when I saw "Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary" as the name of the sisterhood I was very wary when a brother first told me about Canaan in the Desert. But, I can assure you that I have seen absolutely no worship of Mary in this place. Christ alone is lifted up and glorified among them.

This issue of celebrating Christmas always comes up here in the forums each year and I understand those who choose not to observe Christmas.

However, while I despise the gross commercialism of this time, I believe that it is altogether right for a believer to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also believe that we should speak of Christ at every opportunity but this time of year presents many exceptional opportunities to speak of Him and for that I am grateful.

Careful everybody... I see a lot of specks in people's eyes out there...

The sisters have a place over here in Australia which isn't too far from where I live, and I know they go out into the street every now and then and hand out tracts and tell people the good news which is more than I can say for 99.9% of churches over here in Australia. I have read most of Basilea Schlink's books and have yet to read anything out of place. I know Art Katz went to the sisters place in Germany and said as soon as he walked on to their property he felt the presence of God. Also one of the best little daily devotionals you can get ( in my opinion ) is by Basilea Schlink called " More precious than gold ".

Let me offer a thought on this. From my perspective, the Catholic and Lutheran churches are the same. I think they and their founders are both entirely anti-Christ apostates. However, it is amazing how God uses people in the most unusual places.

I wouldn't reject Saint Francis just because he was a Catholic. If he were alive today, I don't know where he would go to church, but I am sure he would find any of our churches and our lifestyles either too worldly or too materialistic.

Anyway, sure. Your post stands. I don't know of any present-day Lutheran church that has a testimony for Christ. But do what Christ did. See people as individuals and examine their fruits. Maybe they have more than most of us?
