Weeeping at the feet of Jesus.

sermonindex Dec 30, 2012

Have you wept at the Master’s feet?
Have you fallen upon the mercy seat?
Has you’re eyes been opened wide?
Have you looked to your soul, deep inside?

Like a mirror coming into view
Have you ever seen yourself so true?
That you cried out when you first begun
” I am a man and I am undone.”

Coals of fire heaped upon your head
Falling on your face as one whose dead
“Please Oh please don’t look on me
With eyes that burn and can truly see.”

There is no place that I can hide
As He looks at me, looks deep inside
I see you child I see deep within
I loved you while you were still in sin

And as love touches this part of me
And all the sins that no one can see
There is released from heaven above
A never-ending river of love

Oh Christendom, Christendom will you ever sing
“My eyes, my eyes have seen the King,”
Can you drink, can yo drink from the Master’s cup
And see Him high and lifted up?

When the flesh lies dead in utter defeat
You will find yourself at the Master’s feet
When your eyes are lifted to the one on high
You will weep and weep and cry and cry

Tears of joy and tears of sadness
A heart that weeps and is full of gladness
Sadness and joy they both shall meet
They are one and the same at the Master’s feet

Truly saints, one can never appreciate where we have been delivered from, until we can look into the darkest part of who we were. Its knowing this and knowing that God loved us while we were yet in our sins that causes the heart to be so amazed. A saint will know both the agony and the joy of love. To know a man with no joy is to know a man who has not been touched in the deepest part of who he is. To know a man who does not, at times , agonize over the sin that in his flesh, is to know a man who has never plunged the depths of his love. The joy and the agony is where the circle meets, at the feet of our Lord. Such overwhelming joy is watered by tears of knowing and to be known…….. bro Frank

A dear brother was telling me today about the thread on systematic theology. I have given it a wide berth :) But I did think about the woman who inspired me to write the above poem. The woman at the feet of Jesus. It occurred to me that she knew more about justification than any PHD, any professor. The thief on the cross was an expert in grace, no one had to explain to him what unmerited favor was.

Perhaps what is more lacking today , more than knowledge and information, is actual experience. Rather than have an expert for a Pastor or a visiting teacher come and grace the congregants with their much knowledge, would it not simply be better to have the toilet cleaner, the construction worker, the fisherman, the " least," amongst us simply be given the platform to testify of the reality of grace, the reality of justification, the reality of the wonderful doctrines of the Scriptures and how it transformed their lives? Less teaching and more living. Maybe then, we would all find ourselves weeping at the feet of Jesus? ............ bro Frank

"It occured to me that she knew more about justification than any PHD, any professor"

There is no partiality in the kingdom of god. Not everyone is worthy of a tiffany, unless your name is (Fred).

Maybe then... maybe then.
