PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN??? HOW???

When every day my country sanctions the legal murder of about 4,000 innocent babies. What is there to be proud of in a nation that justifies depriving the right to life to the most vulnerable of its citizens?

In a declaration that has turned to pure hypocrisy, our founding fathers stated: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ” yet for 40 years, the weakest amongst us has been legally forcefully deprived of life … BRUTALLY MURDERED … under the guise of “choice” for the mother.

With 50 million of my fellow countrymen having been shamefully “legally” snuffed out of life by my fellow countrymen and women, NO I'm not proud to be an American, I AM ASHAMED of my nationality from the bottom of my heart!

And this is just ONE of the many reason for which I am ashamed of my nationality. I deeply appreciate what America once was from the bottom of my heart, but what it has become during my 47 years of life here is NOTHING to be proud of.

For those who don't know it, today is the anniversary of 40 years of the legalization of abortion in the USA. In these 40 years we have killed some 50 million innocent children in the wombs of their mothers.

As goes the church, so goes the nation.

Look at why things are happening, not simply what is happening.

Not all nations have the same wicked concept of freedom that you have described: “I would like to emphasise that in the name and under the guise of freedom, woman can make the choice to murder their babies”. That is the definition of freedom that we have been handed by our wicked nation, but not all nations are as wicked as the USA.

From the time we were young, we were taught to be proud of our nationality. The longer I live here, the more ashamed I become of this nation. The freedom that Christ gives was once a commonly known and publicized subject in the USA. The intensity and horribleness of sin was once declared by preachers in the USA … which led to more true repentance and real freedom. The reason we are MORE wicked than other nations is the same reason that Jesus gave to Capernaum, Chorazin, and Bethsaida:

Mat 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
Mat 11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
Mat 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Mat 11:24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

We have been exposed to more truth and we have REJECTED more truth. Many of the blue and green colored nations on the map haven’t been exposed to nearly as much truth as we have.

Apparently according to Christ’s words there is geographic classification on the Day of Judgment. If we as members of the society do not rise up and cry aloud confessing the horribleness within our geographic region, we become part of the problem. The only way for individuals to find TRUE freedom in Christ is for Christians to be the salt that stings in the wound by announcing and declaring the intensity of the shame of what is being done.

which shows a map of the different nations and their laws about abortion. Most of Europe, USA, and Russia do the abortions on demand. Many other nations consider it murder and only permit it in extreme cases. Amongst those are some that I am more familiar with, Central and South America ... when I posted the same post in Spanish on Facebook one friend from another country wrote: mmmmmm I didn't know that, look at that, those things are not made known in public in the United States... what a shame

In countries where abortion is considered cruel murder (in many hispanic countries), they are shocked when made aware of the widespread evil in this country that appears to be so civilized (on the surface).

I know to most people this will not make a diffrence, but we do not live in a democracy. What we are seeing in the middle east is the result of democracy.

We live in a constitutional republic. We are supposed to be living under the rule of law.

There would be no legal abortion if we adhered to that law.

I am proud to stand for what this country once stood for.
It is we the church who are to blame for the situation that we now find ourselves in. The world is doing what the world does because we lost the conviction and lack of resolve to stand up because of our hypocricy.
We would rather complain and point fingers than get on our knees in humility and repent. We would rather wait around for the rapture and watch the world go to hell, "because in the last days things will get worse, so there is not much we can do".

It is time to pray, and return to the foundations that made this nation a God honoring symbol around the world.

May God have mercy on us and give us a heart of repentence and a desperation to seek His face.

If I am infected, I’d rather be defined by the worst that I am, and have a slight possibility of a cure than to be defined by the best that I am and be overtaken and destroyed by my infection.

Why do I treat my own nation that way? Perhaps because I’ve lived long enough to watch the digressions multiply exponentially. As I grew up in the 70s the church in the USA was as a whole breathing its last few breaths of effectiveness in this country. As TV religion and many other brands of deception took over the church, the nation began to lose all traces of any fear of the Lord. What we are seeing now can only get worse unless enough shame and godly sorrow can be felt in hearts to bring about genuine repentance. When Peter made his own countrymen feel like a bunch of bloodthirsty murderers, some of them repented. When Stephen did the same, he was stoned to death. As more of God’s messengers cry out against sin, the same kinds of reactions will take place in the USA.

i think its okay to love a country, i love America, i love Israel, but i aint blind.

i think hezwilling is correct with that statement. america is a sinful nation, just like every other nation. i hope america wakes up. at the same time there is a lot right with america as well. its easy to sit here and run it down when america is all most americans know. americans forget that by the millions yearly people from all across the globe are trying to come to america to make a better life for themselves.

what other country in the world can you say that about?
