Are we experiencing the "BUILDER'S" promise? The "builder's" promise is found in Isaiah 58 - "Your people will REBUILD the ancient ruins and will RAISE UP the age-old foundations; you will be called REPAIRER of broken walls, RESTORER of streets with dwellings." This promise is given to those who have put away the pointing of the finger and have stopped speaking accusations against their brethren. Through the gracious power of God, they have finally become "peacemakers". That's why they are called BUILDERS or RE-BUILDERS! Ancient dwelling places were places men dwelt together peacefully.
They were communities where men enjoyed the fruit of a tranquil life with their family and friends. This special promise is only experienced by those who learn that the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. we being so filled with the Spirit of peace that the Unity of the Spirit is preserved by our personal contribution. What reputation do we have
Are we becoming known as those who are able to dwell peacefully with many brothers in Christ? Are we following after peace with ALL men? Wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable! Do we have MORE relationships in our lives now or LESS? Are we enjoying MORE community life with our brothers in Christ or are we still living in the devastated places? Are we experiencing the blessing of "brothers dwelling together in unity"?
Those who have put away the pointing of the finger of accusation and have turned away from evil to seek peace and pursue it, will become "builders" of fellowship and will begin to enjoy a rich community life with other believers. The only place God commands a blessing is where "brothers are dwelling together in unity." What is the blessing He commands - the abundant eternal life that is experienced in becoming one in Christ Jesus through the love of God!
May we so grow in this grace of becoming peacemakers that our reputation for building others up far exceeds our reputation for tearing anyone down.
