The Testimony of Lisa Miller

sermonindex Mar 16, 2013

I went in on Ken Miller.org to get the latest update on this brother. By God's grace he is out of prison as his case is on appeal. As I have read about this brother of Mennonite background his solid walk with Jesus becomes evident. Indeed ken Miller is walking in the heritage of his Anabaptist forefathers who suffered for the Lord Jesus.

What I found interesting was Ken's letter to the Federal judge regarding Lisa Miller (no relation). Lisa Miller is the sister who was converted out of the gay lifestyle. She had a child with her partner by artificial inseminattion. The child's name is Isabel.

When Lisa was converted she had no desire for the child to be raised in a perverted environment. Also with concerns of alledged abuse regarding Isabel she fled to Virginia and the Mennonites for help.

Here Ken Milker met her and describes his thoughts about Lisa in a letter on his blogsite.

I believe this letter should be read by all. For in the last part of this letter some ominous trends are occurring. Especially since the Supreme Court is bearing arguments to reverse DOMA.

What really comes out in tbis letter is that Lisa Miller fled this country to Nicarogua to find religious freedom. Saints do you hear me. Lisa Miller fled to Central America so she could raise her child in a Christian environment. And our own government is hunting her down. Does anybody see the concern here? The United States who supposedly adhheres to religious freedom is hunting down Lisa Miller who wants the freedom to raise her child in a Christian environment. And she flees to Central America to find that freedom. You home schooling parents should be concerned over the ominous implications coming from this case.

What surprises me is a number of Christian ministries who are opposed to the LBGT agenda and support DOMA have been strangly silent on this case. Very little bas come from Family Research Council or the ACLJ. Most peculiar.

I believe the Ken Miller/Lisa Miller case will have serious implications for all believers in America. Particularly for those who desire to raise their children according to Biblical standards.

Saints you cannot ignore this reality. Persecution is here and it is not going away. The Ken Milker case is only the start of what is going to come. The question for us is how will we respond to it.

Bearmaster,

This is an amazing account of a man who stood firm on the Word of God and how his family in God stood with him in the face of persecution. I would recommend all Christians read this account as posted on

millercase.org

This gives a modern day account of how God is faithful to his children who stand on the Word of God trusting competely in Him in this lawless generation. May God use this account to inspire us all!

The Millers had posted the song
'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus'
on the site throughout their ordeal.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I've proved Him over and over
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
O for grace to trust him more.

Amen and amen.

Sister Leslie

Indeed sister here is a man who has suffered for having the courage to stand for righteousness sake. Also the testimony of Lisa Miller is powerful. According to brother Ken Miller Lisa had a credible testimony of having met Jesus and being delivered from her sinful lesbian lifestyle. But this sister is paying the price for taking up the cross to follow Jesus. But she has joy, peace, and freedom.

I believe Lisa's testtimony is proof that Christ can deliver those caught up in tbe gay lifestyle if they will but call out to Jesus.

One other thing to note. Ken Milker stated in his letter that Lisa is aware of a small group who seek to engineer and redefine marriage in this country. It seems this is the agenda of the LBGT.

Again this should raise serious concerns on the part of Christian parents who desire to raise their children in a Christ centered way. Lisa had to flee this country just so she could do that. So what does that day about religious freedom in this nation?

Both Ken and Lisa Miller are in effect enemies of the state. One is a federal fugitive while the other is on trial in a federal court. One for kidnapping her child. The other for aiding in tbe kidnapping. The only reason being Lisa did not want her child raised in an ungodly lesbian lifestyle. But wanted her child raised in a Christ centered environment.

Saints do you see the implications? Indeed the warnings coming out of this case? This is not some fictional reality in a movie. But this is persecution in tbe home of the brave and the land of the brave. So how will we respond.

I went back and reread brother Ken Miller's letter regarding Lisa Miller's testimony of her coming to Christ. So much comes out of this letter I had to retitle the thread "The Testimony of Lisa Miller". Because that is what this is about. A sister who had been gloriously converted and born from above. One who has been marvelously delivered from the darkness of lesbianism and brought into the kingdom of light. The kingdom of Jesus.

Yet this dear sister is paying the price for her new found faith in Jesus. The price of the cross. The price of wanting to raise her daughter in a Christ centered home. The irony in all of this is she had to flee this country to find religious freedom in Central America. Thus she is a federal fugitive on the constant run from the authorities. Thus Lisa joins the ranks of those truly persecuted for her faith in Jesus.

Again the message is clear to all of us. I ask first of myself. What lengths am I willing to go for my faith in Christ? Then I must ask of us all. What lengths are we willing to go for our faith in Christ?

We are familiar with Dietrich Bonhoffer and Corrie Ten Boon. These are two saints who went all the way for their faith in Christ to stand and resist evil. I believe Ken and Lisa Miller can very well be added to their names. These two saints follow Jesus in suffering for the gospel.

Again saints persecution is here. How will we respond?

So much is reflected in the testimony of the dear sister who pays the price for her faith in Christ. One is simply the transforming power of the gospel itself. A life changing encounter brought Lisa Miller out of the darkness of lesbianism into the light of the glorious Son of God. Paul would describe this in Romans as the gospel being the power of salvation to all who believe.

Instead of riling against the evil of our day should we not be preaching the cross of Christ? Should we not be pointing people to an encounter with Jesus? This same gospel that converted Lisa can also convert the vilest of sinners. For sure Paul believed that.

Again I would commend Ken Miller's letter regarding Lisa Miller's testimony of coming to Christ. The letter can be found on millercase.org.
