What kind of man...

M
MaryJane Mar 17, 2013

Greetings

I was considering what kind of man or men might rise up into power that would be able to deceive even the elect. What would their character be like? I was thinking this person would have to be a very charismatic leader, have the appearance of being very moral, caring, and a lover of Gods Word in order to be able to deceive even the elect. For a time this person would have to say things and do things that would sound so close to the truth that even the "elect" would be at risk of being deceived. With this in mind I felt the LORD showing me how vital in is that I know HIM, that I know my SHEPHERDS voice so that no wolf can trick or deceive me.

Matthew 24:24

New King James Version (NKJV)

24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Any other thoughts GOD might be showing others? :)

Hi MJ,

The secret service department that deals with counterfeit money, does not become experts in all the different counterfeit notes, they become experts in the real $100 bill, therefore they can spot what is not real.

The man of peace who will arise will look and sound like God's man. In all likely hood he will be a politician who will be backed by the false prophet who will , at some point, announce him to be the Christ. This will be accompanied by lying signs and wonders. The false prophet will be a man who helps encompass the religions of the world into the one whore church. It will encompass all the major religions of the world. Now, many sceptics out there would scoff at the notion of Christianity, Islam and the Jews joining together under one roof in one " church." Even as I write this, there have been many services across the states which included both Muslims and Christians, at least in name. They call these meetings " Chrislam." If you know anything about dispensationalism , the center piece of which is Israel's special role in the dispensations, then you will know that there have been services where Christians and Jews have joined together. Now at some point, I believe, there will be a trigger, a cataclysmic trigger. After that event or events, perhaps some kind or war or brink of war or multiple terrorist attacks killing 100s of thousands in multiple cities around the world, the world will call for an end to this. They will agree that " we all worship the same God," and that we just call HIm by different names. They will also agree that there is many different ways to get to heaven. They will further agree that to suggest otherwise is hate speech. Now I think one thing will particularly change everything. It will be lying signs and wonders. In front of TV cameras from around the world, miracles will be performed, spectacular miracles. People who have been in wheelchairs all their lives will be healed. The blind eyes will be opened. The dead will be raised. And it will all be done in full view of the public. The world will flock after this man. They will love and adore and idolize Him. Those who say anything negative about him will be hated and branded as hate-mongers and fundamentalist and accused of being bigoted and hateful. And of course, there will be the mark at some point, the chip in the arm or forehead. Now, if one believes in a pre-trib rapture, then they would not even entertain any of these suppositions. Obviously I am not a pre-tribber, and that is after attending a Dispensationalist Bible college :) .............bro Frank

MJ i once wrote a post addressing similiar issues and thoughts.

it got the same response as yours (it didnt rate)

but i dont post to get the "ratings"

i post for the sake of truth.

always remember Jesus only began with 12

and at pentecost still only a mere 120 left ...who remained loyal.

but i said all that ...by the way:

its also hard to fathom 2 thess 3 strong delusion falling away of the many. Yet it will happen. The problem is never the truth. Its getting man to align and adjust there thinking and beliefs to his Word!

Evidently God is justified ...in sending ...strong delusion (so that there all damned) but the clay never quuestions the potter who fashioned it.

Yes this does make perfect sense. The task of studying every fake would be useless, time consuming, and probably impossible. However to spend ones time studying the truth, and getting to know JESUS the person intimately would leave no doubts on who HE is. I like and appreciate what you have shared very much. Thank you for this:)

No worries about who posts a reply :) I always feel that those who respond are exactly the ones that were suppose to respond. The ones the LORD had to share something with me and others. If no one responds then as you said, I post because the LORD presses something on my heart and I want to share it with others. Its all in HIS hands.

Thank you for responding and sharing what the LORD placed on your heart to share. It is difficult to consider that those who are saved would fall away or be deceived and yet I think people can become so desperate in their longing for something "more" that after time they will accept what is said and done because of how it effects them and makes them feel. I also believe what Frank said holds true, the use of signs and wonders will be a huge part of it. Persons who come along speaking with the intent to deceive usually have very smooth words and those words usually are very appealing. At first they bring comfort, and joy but before one realizes the danger, the poison has already begun its work and can lead to death...This is why I believe the need to be in the WORD and walking with JESUS daily is so strong. If we know the real, we will never settle for the imposter.

Interesting. The Islamist's are very God fearing and moral people. How ever I don not think that the False prophet or the anti-Christ will come from that sect. Not entirely, maybe a mild form of...most likely it'll be someone with in an already established religion who displays characteristics of the miraculous and is very likable (the false prophet anyway). My guess is that it will come from the Catholic background where in most of the World (excepting America) both God and family are priority number 1. They have a great respect for morality and service toward God. Now I'm not saying that their knowledge of God will be Christ centered, they will have extra biblical understanding to be sure but in the "False Prophets" case their teachings will be really close, and the signs and wonders will be very close to the real thing. I believe the False Prophet will be the One who presents the Anti-Christ in such a fashion that based on the masses trust of him(the False Prophet), they blindly follow after the Anti-Christ. The whole world will not follow the Anti-Christ, hence the wars spoken of in Revelation, and the prophets, and as for America? We'll be in ashes and recovering as a Country probably more like one of the third world country's only with a ton of after-math to deal with.
Our un-doing and collapse will be in part what forces the rest of the world into a single currency system.

"This is why I believe the need to be in the WORD and
walking with JESUS daily is so strong. If we know the real,
we will never settle for the imposter."

So may I humbly suggest that we get away from gueses and
imaginings - To the WORD

The following are the five main references to the end time
Beast and Antichrist. There are very many other smaller
references depending how we interpret scripture, but these,
I believe, are the major ones

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is
the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and
the Son.

1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that
spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should
come; and even now already is it in the world.

Rev 13:13-15 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh
fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of
those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the
beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a
sword, and did live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause
that as many as would not worship the image of the beast
should be killed.

2Th 2:3-12 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that
day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,
and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called
God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the
temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you
these things?
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed
in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who
now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord
shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall
destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with
all power and signs and lying wonder
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them
that perish; because they received not the love of the
truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,
but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Dan 11 vs 36 -38And the king shall do according to his will;
and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every
god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of
gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be
accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the
desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify
himself above all.
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a
god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and
silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

Dan 7:23-25 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the
fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all
kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread
it down, and break it in pieces.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that
shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall
be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and
shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to
change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand
until a time and times and the dividing of time.

My only two comments at this point are

The antichrist is set on putting down all religion and other
gods, blaspheming the true God and setting up the beast as
the only one to be worshipped; all by the power of satan.

His ability to deceive even the elect mainly springs from
his Satan given power to work miracles.

MaryJane, I wish I could honestly say that this is what the Lord put on my heart.

I find that I have a fascination for this issue which is not of the LOrd but of me. I have left it with Him to deal with it and with me, and look forward to a further abundant supply of His mercy and grace which is always His way with me.

False prophets (we can say "false preachers" today), come in the name of Jesus Christ with all the right doctrines. The "sheep's clothing" is correct Christian doctrine. Jesus said that many will come saying "I am he", meaning that "Jesus Christ is the Messiah". I don't think any elect person will be deceived if a preacher comes to them in the name of Mohammed or Vishna, or if a preacher says that he personally is the incarnation of Jesus the Christ.

The false preachers will come like the real deal, preaching real evangelical doctrines, with great knowledge of Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic, and with flowing expositions delivered in spectacular eloquence, and with signs and wonders following to "authenticate" the so-called anointing on their ministries. But they will never tell you how difficult it is to enter in the narrow way. They'll widen the gate for everyone who says the sinner's prayer and acquiesces to an intellectual affirmation of the gospel. With all their dazzling oratory and mastery of hermeneutics you will not find one mention on how to overcome the lust of the eyes. They will teach you all about Abraham and Joseph and his brothers, but not how to overcome pride. They will teach you the proper Greek terms for repentance and justification and grace, but not how to be delivered through grace from anger and bitterness. They'll tell you the proper interpretation of Sheol and Hades, but not how to triumph over the love of money. If they do speak of mortification and the crucifixion of the self-life, it is in high-brow, theological terms which cannot be practically assimilated by the common listener. They will speak of the great prayer lives of dead saints, to unwittingly give Satan ammunition to bring you under condemnation. They will manipulate your emotions via the soul to get you to give more money to the poor, commit to arduous and artificial Bible reading systems and prayer schedules, yet not lift their finger through the preaching of Holy Spirit grace to divinely inspire and empower you for these tasks.

Spiritual deception comes more by what is not said, than what is said. False preachers only tell you that Jesus came so God could forgive you of your sins and improve the social, psychological and financial quality of your life. But all these things could be had by faithful a Jew who obeyed the Mosaic law, offered blood sacrifices and paid his tithes to the priests. Total victory over unclean thoughts, covetousness, looking at women with lust, impatience, anger, fear, discouragement, the boast of life, chasing after more and more money, hypocrisy, greed, self-centeredness, white lies, impulses of revenge, conspiracy of the heart could not be won no matter how much money he gave or how many goats and bulls he killed. You'll find no rain in the false preacher's cloud to water you with the grace of the Great Deliverer who actually takes away the power of these sins.

There are multitudes who sit under such men and their ministries who are never told that they can be totally, utterly, and conclusively delivered from these things through the blood of Christ and grace of the New Covenant.

I think you're spot on to what we are seeing today in America and her churches, however, as end-time personalities go, The False Prophet and the Anti-Christ will be solution oriented individuals who are accepted and well liked. I believe that the False Prophet will be or claim to be christian in Orthodoxy however will also embrace other religions and give the unspoken impression that there is more than one way to God to heaven etc....I don't believe that this World Religious Leader or an individual that rises up from within an already established christian religious system will be a dark cloud type of person. He'll be likable and will show love for humanity, his flaw will be that he makes a broad path, just like you stated. He will not at all be what the Africans call Americanized (the term here is not a compliment). I can actually see him as being a poster child (if you will) for most of our churches here in the states. We as most of the world will embrace him. It's amazing to me that Jesus' uses the term "Very elect", just wondering if someone on here could properly break that down for us, I'm no scholar.

Also I do not see him as being flashy. He'll be a people person able to touch people (the masses) where they live, so to speak. And he will talk against sin, humanism does the same, we label it under self improvement and such. Why do I concern more about the False Prophet than the Anti-Christ?
Religious verses Political, easy, the ones a threat to us directly ..the other I don't believe so.
