Andrew Strom's Battle Plan

sermonindex Mar 11, 2005

This is from the ANZAC Prophetic List What do you think?"The BATTLE PLAN"-by Andrew Strom. We know from God's dealings with men down the ages that there is a time to 'wait' and a time to GO. There is a time to sit stillbefore the Lord and a time for MOBILISATION. Many of us havebeen sensing a "change of seasons" for some time. We areentering a battle-zone for the hearts and minds of the church andthe world. Our footsteps hasten to the sound of war.I think we know each other well enough by now to speakplainly and honestly about the days that lie ahead. I have beenrunning this List for years and I am well aware of the kinds ofpeople who are on here. Many are the kind that I have the most affinity with in the world. -The kind who cry and anguish over the state of today's church, and who find it almost unbearable trying to fit in with today's "Christianity as usual". The kind who believe in a different type of Body than any they have ever seen - but who know not where to find it. -The kind who wander like strangers and pilgrims in the earth, waiting, waiting, waiting for the 'Real thing' to be birthed. -The kind who pray with groanings and tears for the Bride to AWAKEN and put on strength, that the world may KNOW the glory of God.We have many 'cave-dwellers' and wilderness-dwellers on thisList. We have many "underground prophets". We have manypeople who go to church - and even lead in the church - andyet their heart is always yearning for the missing glory - a glory they have never yet seen.So are we in the hour of mobilisation? Are we in the days ofthe "Gideon's 300" and of David's 'mighty men' fighting out of the cave of Adullam? Is this indeed the hour for war? Before the 'John the Baptist' Conference my answer probablywould have been "no". But after what I saw and sensed over the weekend I have to tell you that my answer has become "yes". "Behold, I will do a NEW THING; Now it shall SPRING FORTH. Shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the WILDERNESS,and RIVERS IN THE DESERT" (Isaiah 43:19).After much prayer and pondering, I believe that our response tothis should be two-fold. And it should be very simple:(1) We need to connect with each other regionally so that wecan pray and fellowship and RAISE OUR VOICE AS ONE in allparts of this nation.(2) It is the 'WORD' that will do the work, and all we have todo is get that word heard LOUDLY - first by the church and thenby the world. Everything else will follow. (What do I mean by the'word'? -Further explanation is below):When I was at the Conference, God led me to lay out FOURBASIC ESSENTIALS that we need to stand for:We stand for:(1) Repentance(2) The WHOLE Gospel(3) A return to "BOOK-OF-ACTS" type Christianity(4) We will gladly GIVE OUR LIVES for these things.-This is what the 'word' is all about. It is primarily a word ofREPENTANCE and RESTORATION aimed at the church. Theseare the four things that we need to agree on before we can moveforward. At the Conference, everyone was almost unanimous inagreeing to these four things. So am I talking about a "MOVEMENT" here? Yes I am. You need to know, and be in no doubt at all, that what I am talkingabout in this email is a nationwide MOVEMENT. You can callit whatever you like. The 'John the Baptist' movement? -Whatever. None of that really matters. What matters is that it is all aboutgetting the 'WORD' to the church and letting that word bringreal transformation and change. We are not talking about starting a 'denomination' or a church. We are not talking about some new "system". We are talking about (1) Simply bringing like-minded people together, and (2) Bringing the WORD to the CHURCH. (-Largely a word of REPENTANCE).So what do we do in practical terms?(1) As I said, I need to find a way of connecting the people on this List who live in the same region. (-Obviously only those who want to participate will be put in touch with each other). I am working on this, and I will let you know.(2) We need to have groups formed in the cities of America andwe need to hold a "JOHN THE BAPTIST" CONFERENCE inthese places. What this does is gather many of the like-mindedpeople from that region, thus enabling us all to connect. There is no unity or strength in being completely 'scattered' everywherelike we are now. That is not God's idea of "Body". Too many of us are alone and vulnerable and "unconnected". The Conferences are one-off events, but the groups that are formed will continue to meet and pray together, and to represent this 'word' in their city.(3) These groups must never meet on Sunday morning. They are not a "church". But they certainly are a gathering-place.I believe many of these meetings will be PRAYER-oriented with'open-mic' sharing times, etc. -Truly open for the Holy Spirit tomove. We will need godly co-ordinators in each place to help run these meetings, and also to set up the Conferences. What is a "Conference"? It is simply a gathering of peoplefor ministry and preaching. Nothing more than that. Remember, it is the local people who will be continuing this whole thing after the Conference is over. They are the ones who will be RAISING THEIR VOICE in their area. The Conference is just a simple way of getting everything jump-started. (-Maybe once a year?)The end result will be regional 'John-the-Baptist' type fellowships all over the nation. -All preaching and impacting the CHURCHwhere they are.I have already spoken to James Smith and David Kirkwoodabout all this. Both of these men carry a message that I believeis essential to such a movement in this hour. David carries a word on the Poor and our use of Money that is just pivotal andurgent in the West right now, and James carries a word on 'Revolution' in the church. My own specialist area is probably the "WHOLE GOSPEL" - teaching people how to walk in "Romans 8" Christianity - how to truly experience 'FULL SALVATION'. -You would be surprised at the impact of a message like that, even at this Conference. -So that is my main contribution. As I said, some of the preaching at this recent Conference was at a different level from anything I have been involved with before. And I guess it has to be, if we are going to see anything like a real 'breakthrough' in this nation. All three of us have agreed to hold further "John-the-Baptist" Conferences around America - to see these regional fellowships raised up all over. Friends, the above is a simple outline of the only Battle Planthat I feel God has given me. It is not complicated. But it doesserve to GATHER THE PEOPLE and to GET THE WORD OUT.And that is all I believe it is meant to do.Please take this to God in prayer and see if He would have youbecome a part of it. Personally I am suddenly very excited aboutwhat God wants to do this year. It feels like the right time to me. And so many at the Conference were saying the same. (-Which caught me by surprise). This has to be a year when a "clear trumpet sound" goes forth. The church must be called to Repentance. The days are short. So are we truly willing to 'set the trumpet to our mouth'? Obviously there will be further talk about all this over the next few weeks. Please keep the whole thing bathed in prayer, my friends?God bless you all.Kindest regards in Christ,Andrew Strom.--To subscribe, send a "subscribe" email to- prophetic@revivalschool.comOR send *ANY* email to- anzac-subscribe@welovegod.orgTo unsubscribe, send ANY message to: anzac-unsubscribe@welovegod.orgTo send material for consideration for publication, send to-prophetic@revivalschool.comVISIT OUR SITES ON THE NET:REVIVAL SUPERSITE - http://www.revivalschool.comPROPHETIC SUPERSITE - http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~revival/index2.htmlMODERATOR:Andrew Strom,PO Box 9852,Kansas City,MO 64134,USA.

Andrew is a friend of mine and I have ministered alongside both him and James Smith a few times this year. They have a heart for revival and repentance. We are very different people and see things a bit differently, but the commonality of the message and the Spirit of God is prevalent. I am a 'church' guy and thay are more of the 'out-of-church' or 'house church' type. Actually that is a misnomer as I minister in almost all venues. I just have a greater sympathy for churches than many. That makes me the odd man out as I am not as quick to blanketly criticize churches as I know there are some sorely dedicated Christians in the Church. Therfore the great challenge will be to seek God and allow HIM to speak through us and not we speak in the flesh. If I am not an Oracle what am I? 1) My first thoughts for any of this [edit]repentance movement is that there has to be some balance as God is working in the lives of the people and great caution against misrepresenting God. 2) I have seen things in the last several months on this site that has caused me to almost forsake the repentance message all together. It is almost a Jonah and Nineveh thing. A lot of people are near to ruining a good message with their radical and unacceptable views. 3) As a repentance preacher myself I know that one must speak on behalf of God and not on behalf of myself. Not what I think needs to be done- but "What saith God?" 4) If the folk who preach repentance do not have a fresh word with clear direction from God they need to sit down. People need to know what God wants them to do. We don't need people venting their anger at the church from behind the pulpit. I have seen all that I can take. It does not edify anyone. 5) If you cannot connect with the folk you are ministering to and love them as God would- you will present a God of anger and hate to a people that often need God's love. Love will make you zealous for God- but the wisdom of God is first pure, peacable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of good fruits, without partiality and hypocricy. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of those who are making peace. No love= no ministry.6) Christ walks in the midst of the candlesticks and this is His Church. Whoever ministers to the Body had best have the mind of Christ. Getting in the flesh will cost dearly those who forsake this truth.7) We will know God has sent revival when folks are walking in the Spirit. When folk get about the Master's business we will know God is moving. Revival will not be when everyone is mad at the Church- it will be when everyone sets out to do their part to see the Church all it is meant to be. My initial thoughts...

i got this too ... i'm on the list ... This is the part that stuck out for me ...Quote:"We have many 'cave-dwellers' and wilderness-dwellers on this List. We have many "underground prophets". We have manypeople who go to church - and even lead in the church - and yet their heart is always yearning for the missing glory - a glory they have never yet seen".So i'm praying about this, because #1 i'll have to hear from God that this is something He wants me to be a part of, #2 i don't want to jump into a group and cause more harm that good, as we've got enough harm already ...Now while i empathize with those mentioned in the quote above, i'm an above ground prophet, and tend to agree with brother Robert in that i firmly believe God ain't abandoning the so called organized church for if He was i wouldn't be assigned to the one i belong to ... i in fact believe, and have delivered messages to my pastor over the past 20 years as to the "word" Holy Spirit has given me toward the direction He wants and plans to take this church He's assigned me to ... Last year He told me to cease, for His "word" has gone unheeded, and said to me in essence that He would personally handle it from there ... So in my spirit i sense that His change to this organized church is coming very soon, and when that takes off i will have my hands full ...What do you think about it?PS - i do like the fact that brother Strom stated that this in no way is to pre-suppose Sunday morning services ... i find that in decency, and in order ...

PS - i do like the fact that brother Strom stated that this in no way is to pre-suppose Sunday morning services ... i find that in decency, and in order ...Andrew is always careful not to do that in all the meetings he sets up. James also has followed this in the revival meetings that have been held throughout the midwest. As a matter of fact, one meeting was held with most of the ministers in the town in agreement. It was across denominational boundaries. We stayed in a Lutheran ministers cabin on the river for the weekend and was also supported to a greater or lesser degree by the other pastors. The Baptist pastor called the Lutheran to get our stay arranged. It was pretty neat how God worked it out. God really moved at these times. One of the men in the meeting came under such conviction that he had to leave his house and rent a hotel room for the night to seek the Lord he was struck under conviction and sorrow for sin. It was a very powerful word from the Lord. The man was still in a weeping state at 9:00AM the following morning and came and attended the John Baptist conference.God Bless,-Robert

Crossing denominational lines! ... men of God weeping under conviction! ... Now that puts a smile on the face of this old crumudgeon for Christ ... '0)Brother Robert i do believe i smell rain, do you?

Hi Bro. Rahman,Brother Robert i do believe i smell rain, do you?Brother hear my heart here; I have seen God work some serious works in lives when the real message of repentance comes forth. I have then sat and felt the Holy Ghost grieved when others would come along and slam the church and make snide remarks that grieve the Spirit. The repentance preachers are going to have to filter themselves out of God's messages and deliver a PURE word. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. I can be listening to a minister and feel the unction behind the words- all the sudden they jump the rails and get in the flesh (as we say in MO) and it all but ruins what God is doing- not to mention the FAVOR that God is giving to the person to deliver the message. A lot of doors to the repentance message have been shut simply because the filter has not been in place and people sense a hostility that is no good to anyone. It will be hard enough to get the message into Churches- without any baggage. One common question preachers are going to ask before they allow a John Baptist type preacher into their pulpit is, Are they against the Church? Only the repentance preacher can answer that. I have preached some strong repentance messages in the last 16 months and I will tell you that you have to be very very sensitive to the Holy Ghost. the Devil wants you to throw out a statement to the people that will shut the rest of God's message down. DON"T YIELD TO IT! stay the course. Settle your emotions and bitterness. Don't offer strange fire before the Lord. Preach with all the authority that God will give. Say what He says say- no more and no less. I do smell rain my brother- but I fear that this whole movement will be tarred and feathered by anger and hostility that will throw everything off the tracks. Better is a man that can keep his spirit than a man that can take a city. If we are going to take any cities for God we must keep our spirit.God Bless,-Robert

Settle your emotions and bitterness. The other thread of what is biblical love ties in very closely to this. I find that the knife edge of preaching repentance with a heart full of love and one of a heart filled with anger and bitterness is quiet ironic. That in a split second we can step out from speaking his inspired word into self.I just think that we who have a natural tendency to confront and be a prophetic voice must really be sensitive to Him. I have in my own life seen how true the words are that when I am weak then I am strong. More frightening though is the converse of that when I am strong, then I'm weak. In my walk with the Lord I have just sensed that if my natural bent is to be a trumpet then I am missing other parts of Christs nature in my life.

Brother Robert,i praise God that He has a man like you in the midst of such a movement, and i pray that He will use you mightily, and most importantly effectively against their flesh based, angry manifestations ... But in accordance to all that you said brother Robert is why i'm not prone, nor have i been led by Holy Spirit in the past to join any said organized prophetic group ... Organization is organization, and along with that creeps in certain rules, regulations and mindsets ... i certainly don't like a lot that i see going on in the so called organized Church but i also know that Christ, as Jehovah with His Bride of Israel, will never give up on any member of His Bride ... We may give up on Him, but He straight up told us that He'd never leave us or forsake us ... Besides the fact that i know i'm sent by God to serve the pastor, and the Church i attend in the capacity that God has sent me there ... For if i wasn't there, and wasn't radical enough in my faith to say to him what i believe Holy Spirit instructed me to say as to the changes He wants to see there, in him, and his ministerial staff, when our Lord personally brings His sweeping hand of change thru, he'll not only not be able to say that he wasn't warned, but he'll also unmistakably realize that it was in fact our Lord speaking thru me, His servant, all that will then be coming to pass ... Our Lord has had me at this same church, delivering His "word" to this same pastor for some 20 years now, and i'd be lying if i didn't say that there was a time when i was angry at my pastors obvious dismissal of my delivered "thus saith the Lord" ... But over a period of time Holy Spirit got me way over that in that He made me to realize i'm just a "spokesman", and if any don't hear the message of repentance He has me spouting, i'm not being rejected, He is ... That's where i think a lot of we prophet types lose it, we forget that it's all about Him, and we take things personal ... I now pray much for my pastor because #1 - last year Holy Spirit told me to desist and that He would now take care of it Himself ... And #2 - The last message i delivered my pastor ignored it till the end of the year, and then formulated something out of the instruction that was a desperate altered truncated version of my delivered "word", and it's completely confused the congregation ... Did i run around the congregation offering explanation? ... Not on my life, for God didn't tell me to do that! ... Am i mad at him? ... No, far to the contrary, i'm afraid for him, for it reminded me of Saul ... i've learned over the last 10 of my 26 years of salvation that our God has His own ways, methods and time frame for doing things, and that if He decides to pick us up and utilize us toward His plan, we need to do just as you suggest, move in His instruction, and His instruction only, and when He tells us to desist just shut up ... But the greatest thing that i'm learning is His endless love and compassion, tho He may have to trot us out to the woodshed every once in a while, He always reminds us from scripture that He's doing so because He loves us, then afterwards hugs us, and bids us "go and sin no more" ... i pray that if the John the Baptist Movement can call out sin in love then God's power to it, but if it's gonna drive an even bigger wedge may it fizzle out and die in it's tracts now ... The power of conviction can only be weilded by Holy Spirit ... That's the gist of REVIVAL ... Oh how i long to hear that sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind ... All the unholy hordes of hell can't convince me that i wont, and that i won't hear Him at my "organized" church soon ... He told me he would, i believe Him, and that settles it for me ... Amen

I have enjoyed ministering with these men since last February (Andrew) and a few times with James since last October. God has done some great things and taught me much. I am mainly concerned for the people who want to get on board who are not going to listen to the Holy Ghost. The whole thing stands on a knife edge. God will give direction. He knows who to use. We will see what God will do.God Bless,-Robert

I think a few times before Andrew has given the trumpet call using other words and phrases to start a revolution and change but it will all come to nothing if its NOT GOD's TIME.. I am not saying Andrew Strom is totally wrong but I am not thinking that a clear-cut leaving the church and forming "repentance" groups is going to amount to much. I could give a call for SI groups to form and leave their home churches but I would sadly be starting somewhat of a cult and forcing something God needs to do by His Spirit.God is at work in so many places in so many hearts.. Let us cry out for personal revival before we start condemning all the others around us in church buildings. "Woe is me" is where we have to come to (read Isaiah 6 slowly word by word).

Mr Ravenhill leaving at the last moment might have come from his research and talking to some people about the list of speakers at the event? I would like to hear what you felt about the event Robert? Hello Greg,To my knowledge there has never been a “public” explanation as to why Mr. Ravenhill pulled out of this conference at the last moment. So any thoughts on this I guess will just be speculation or conjecture at best. If indeed Mr Ravenhill did research on some of these Conference speakers writings it could explain his abrupt departure. You wrote “let us cry for personal revival”, how true this is. I sat through half of the John The Baptist sessions myself. The keynote speaker the first evening made the statement that the Church needs rebuked, it was then qualified by stating it needs to be done with wisdom, but then sadly these remarks were concluded with a statement that even if it is not done with wisdom, the Church still needs rebuked. Troubling, to say the least in my opinion.I have only felt the need to depart out of two services in my life, the first years ago at a so-called “laughing in the Spirit” service with Kenneth Hagin, and then the second day at this John The Baptist Conference during the afternoon session. I observed several others left as well, and from a limited perspective only speaking with a few it seems some were uncomfortable with the whole “declaration of war” mentality, or “going to war, equipped to fight, enlistments, prepare for battle, ect…” I know some as well, were uncomfortable with the call “for catchers” to come forward before one of the speakers prayed for some.It would not be proper to dismiss the two hundred or so that were in attendance and start applying labels. No doubt there were those who desperately want to walk in holiness and live for the Glory Of God. One thought I got from being in the services was a genuine sense that many simply feel they are alone, maybe abandoned? And I believe the Holy Spirit will guide them, and me as well! But to close, many have written or mentioned the figure of 33,000 different Christian denominations or sects, and usually I have found said in a derogatory fashion. And then ironically the plan seems to call for yet more “groups, fellowships ect..” to be formed? I can only echo Robert’s thoughts “optimistic caution”, with emphasis on the caution.God Bless, tony

Been there, done that.I wonder whether it will be considered a war when those in the churches begin killing the true sons and daughters of God, thinking they are doing themselves and God a favor...

There is something in what Jesus said to Peter and the Apostles that I think we need to grasp to get back to reality with all of this: Matthrew 16:18a (NKJV) - "I will build My Church".note the emphasis:"I will build My Church" - It is Jesus that will intiate and start the Church, it is Jesus Himself that will be active in the laying the foundation of the Church."I will build My Church" - This is a promise of Jesus He WILL have it come to pass, He will do it. He is able and willing to do the work and will have His Church made."I will build My Church" - Note that Jesus is the one that builds it, He pours out His Spirit, and the gifts of the Spirit. It is His choices that really matter in all the activities of believers that comprise the Church. We can rest in the fact that He is the one that is building."I will build My Church" - It is His Church, He has claimed it as His own. We have to get our hands off it as if we owned it or claim rights to it. He is the master we are the slaves. We have to give the Church back to Jesus for the Church to truly be the Church."I will build My Church" - The Church is the body of believers that are indwelt by the Spirit of Jesus. The church is unique and created by Christ, He is the head of it. It is the creation of God and what a wonderful thing it is to be a part of it, to have the heavenly gift and to partake of the Holy Spirit and the power of the ages to come.

Been there, done that.I just think there is something strange in really trying to be divise in the body of Christ. At SermonIndex there is a promotion of true spiritual revival, a distaste of the way the spiritual condition of the Church is. But the summation of these things comes back to the individual: where are you with God? Are you praying for revival personally? There is a call to miltantency but it is NEVER in the physical, we are at war spiritually, "let us enter into warfare on our knees".

where are you with God? Are you praying for revival personally?Do you have a few hours/days/weeks for me to share all the personal revival, healing, miracles, breaking down, and resurrection that the Lord Jesus Christ is doing here? :) Does anyone want to really hear it? Nobody on this board knows. Just my small circle of friends and my Lord Jesus.I'm still waiting for someone outside that gift of friends to actually listen without telling me I'm just out of my mind, I'm a fanatic, or it all really didn't happen (quote from a local pastor). Are there any believers out there? I'm not only praying for more personal revival, but it is actually HAPPENING here! Will anybody in the church celebrate and praise Him with me?
