Mary Jane,Papa,Bear,Greg,and others,

Thank you for your prayers, and kind words.
I do believe I will be getting better every day, as the venom,
and swelling gets out of my leg,...and then be able to walk and be able to do the things that I need to do again.

I do not understand all of this, but I know God does, and He has been so merciful to me although so undeserving as I am,...
and I was reminded that .not even a sparrow falls to the ground without His knowing of it

I am very active in the yard and the woods for many years,..it is a wonder
that I was not bit before now.

But You know Lord,..so have Your perfect will and way even in this.

Blessings to you,
elizabeth

Elizabeth, not to distract from your situation, but am wondering if you found this snake on the land? I thought they hide out in the water, like ponds. Our sons who used to work at seining catfish ponds talk about how they would encounter them during the course of their work but were never attacked by any.

So glad you are recovering...just take care.

Ginnyrose,
Actually, the snake was on land at the time.
We have a pond back behind our house, then I have a small gold fish
Pond in our sitting garden. He was just a few feet from the gold fish pond
where I was trimming some dead limbs off of a redbud tree.
I usually wear boots out working, but went out to just 'look around'
and saw a few things that needed doing, and had on gaiter shoes and low socks.and he bit me on the ankle..

And even with a delay in my care, the Lord took care...I am very thankful
It has been unusual.

Thank you ginnyrose,
Blessings to you all,
elizabeth

Elizabeth, glad for the warning... Of course, I hate all snakes, no, I am paranoid about snakes.

Thanks for posting.

Am glad you are recovering.

I have been in thought, about, why did I get snake bit ?
I believe there is a reason for everything.
I thought, when the viper hung on to Paul's hand,it didnot swell nor hurt him.,....but Paul was,I believe, completly and totally given to God.

And studying out the details of it all,...I must have been standing on the snake,...he reached around someway and bit me twice,..in a perfect line about one half inch below the first bite. When I looked down,he was like in a S shape moveing on his back, near me,trying to get away.

We know, the Lord chasins those He loves.and if that is it,I welcome it.
I know too that we must look inside to see if The Lord is trying to say something to me,and Believe it is a must that we do...examine ourselves.,...judge ourselves, that we will not be judged.

Continued thoughts,

I was standing,...my foot,...my walk,..on him,..he was penned down,...but
was still active,...actually the serpent in our lives needs his head crushed,..
and dead in our lives,...undevided love for The Lord.he is a jealous God.

Is there something The Lord is trying to say ?
I pray to listen / hear,..and He gives me the Grace to obey.

Grace: the Devine enfflence upon my heart, and it's reflection in the ( my)
Life.

Just thought I might ought to share my thoughts.

For Him,
elizabeth

Elizabeth,

You are asking some insightful questions...

The physical reality is that you were not looking to see where you were going. You assumed all was well, that there is nothing in your path that would challenge this. But ignorance did not change reality.

I did a little research online into water/cotton mouth moccasins. I learned they are aggressive and will pursue a potential prey including humans. The testimonies of it happening are scary. Now I know why I will kill all snakes that are within my power to do so. (Except I really do not want to kill a king [edit - wrong spelling] snake because they eat other snakes! My husband has witnessed this himself.)

So it is with sin: ignorance of sin or turning a blind eye to it will not change the reality of its existence. And sin will pursue us in many different forms. Scripture tells us to flee from temptation. If we would not be vulnerable there would be no need to flee! But that is not the reality.

Life teaches one some powerful lessons, does it not?

Glad you are recovering - but suspect your recovery is simple in comparison to a recovery from sin.

God bless.

"I have been in thought, about, why did I get snake bit ?
I believe there is a reason for everything."

Could be,but probably not.
I do landscaping for a living.I Get hurt, get over it,get hurt again.I learned not to look too deeply into these little speed bumps.

Just stay thankful and appreciate his power in your life. You will be better than ever before and think of the awesome testimony you will have now.

Possibly;"That ole devil was stalking me in the garden just like he did Jesus. He proved to me one thing! Myh God is bigger than ole slewfoot!!!"

Psalm 1,
And Ginny Rose,

Thank you for caring and taking the time to share your thoughts and comfort.

I am now at 2and 1/2 weeks from that,..could not walk for a week, and am off the walker now and hobbling since last Thursday.but in ALL THINGS
I am very thankful.

And too, through my being in the hospital and them doing an
Ultrasound they found an old blood clot in the other leg, that had been giving me some trouble, and are now working on that.

The Lord is most Gracious,
Thanking Him and you all,
elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

Perhaps you would look into keeping a couple of Geese or at least some Guinea Hens. They can be helpful against the snake population.

Very glad to hear you are getting better and sharing your thoughts about why you may have been bitten. Reflection is a pathway to growth, in my opinion. Now days there are so many distractions it takes a major event to afford the time for reflection. It is only by stepping back and viewing that one can more clearly see God's Hand in our lives.

Praise Jesus,
ws

Thank you White Stone,
For the information about the geese and the guinea. We used to have
some Guinea hens,...and seems like I can recall someone saying that.

Sorry it took so long in getting back to you

Come Saturday, it will be (4) weeks since I was bitten.
It must take a while for the venom to flush it's way back out,and I still
Have some discoloration, and swelling, but all in all, I am doing good.
I thank The Lord !

And too,White Stone, thank you for your thoughts.

Bless you,
elizabeth

Dear friends,

I was just thinking about steping on that snake ,and didnot entend
to go on and on about this, but this is what came to me, and thought it worth
sharing.

I was not watching where I put my feet.

" We can't just walk along blind. We need to watch where we put our
feet ! We must awake and be alert in our Spirit, because sever deception
is here or is coming....The very elect will be DECIEVED,...if that were
possible. "

( Mt.24:24)..Jesus said,..." For there shall arise false Christs, and false
prophets, and shall show great wonders, insomuch that,if it were
possible, they shall DECIEVE the very elect. "

Blessing in Him,
elizabeth

That snake bite provided you with a lot of inspiration, did it not? Scripture says that "all things work together for good to those who are called..."

Deception scares me. The closest I come to it is that when I want to back off from confronting because I know the reaction it will evoke. This is called the 'fear of man'. People will say it was not given in love, that you are judgmental..but never mind how they rebuke you - the same rules does not apply to them, only you....Then I recall how Jesus lived and taught - people's reactions did not deter him - he was on a mission to seek and to save. He knew some would listen and most will not. So...I am still learning and asking the LORD for enlightenment and empowerment to be obedient ALWAYS.

Anyhow, I appreciate you sharing this insight.
