Edit : I am removing this post, because of conviction since posting it. When I hit submit, I felt fairly clear that I was not posting out of malice, but since posting it, I have had great conviction that indeed it was from a malicful contentious spirit.

If the mods or anyone else feels it necceary for me to repost it, I will but because of the personal subject matter, I felt a need to remove it.

I apologize greatly amrkelly, I do have some growing up to do.

I myself am always learning and growing and have so very much farther to go.

After I got saved, I fell in love with learning God's word and understanding His ways. Not really interested in an academic knowledge of His word but a heart knowledge of His ways and Who He is and with this inspiration, I fell in love with history. I enjoy history because it explains in many ways to me why we (the church) are where we are today regarding many different perspectives.

I love digging into subjects with others and hopefully we can continue to do that and learn and grow along the way. I still don't communicate the way I would like to in forums and I know sometimes I write things that may "grate" on a brother but don't intend, too. Texting is so much more different than talking face to face and not everyone communicates clearly in text. I know I am challenged in that area and learn much from others and am always looking for ways to improve my communication.

Hey, I don't like it when threads get locked as I prefer brothers to recognize (on their own) and bring the thread to a peaceful close just like in real life. But, I do understand in cyberspace, that this must be done (sometimes). And I appreciate the moderators patience and prayers. I have seem them step back and try to allow brothers to self-regulate themselves (just like in real life). :-)

Anyway, I don't want you to get discouraged and leave. I hope you stay, amrkelly. We need one another and need to encourage each other "and so much the more as we see the day approaching." I have appreciated many of your posts and am quite sorry if I offended you in anyway as I was enjoying the conversation and the different perspectives and understandings that several brothers had on the subject.

Have a blessed week in Christ,
Pilgrim

praise god ,,,lol I got some grown up to do as well

I had many urges to post in the sin nature thread ,,but have been under conviction for about 2 or 3 months about being slow to speak and slow to wrath ,,,,,,I haven't been able with a clear conscience to post any replys to any topics ,,,,,,

not with the state of the church and the state that im in

I want revival and ,and god wants a praying rement to call on him for a renewing of his peoples

if I cant give my self over for serious prayer for revival ,I need to shut my mouth ,I will only be a hypocrite in gods eyes ,,he has made that very clear

there is a time to talk
and there is a time to pray

NOW IS THE TIME TO PRAY

SO BEST I shut my mouth about talking about god
and be convicted ,and prayer to god ,for the spirit of prayer and supplication ,,or else all my exortaions and admonishing's are all vain and worthless

god help us ,god help me

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body Jam 3:2

If we as Gods people ever hope to get to a place of maturity (perfection) in Christ then we must get to a place where our heart is pure.

James challenges us later on in verse v11 with the question ‘does a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter’

The heart is seen as a fountain and out of it flow the springs of life, but that fountain should not bring forth bitter and sweet waters it should not be like this…

I see both bitter and sweet in my fountain, I know I should not be like this, so I confess with sadness my heart is not pure and that I am very very aware of this fact. (But please don’t think that I use that to justify sin in my life)

What I need, what we all need is a deeper work of the Spirit that will cleanse our hearts, so that only sweetness will flow from us only then and only can we be spiritual, mature and perfect man/woman..

Bless you all………

amen god help us have mercy

brother if we are truly honest ,,,unless we already have the spirit of prayer and supplication as did,,, evan Roberts ,,,,,,,,,,we should all take our place in the dust ,with ash sack cloth and ashes ..or else when revile does come we will be the ones who are ashamed the most

pride is a secret devil so to speak

have mercy of us lord, bless me with that lord

brother can I say one thing to you ,,a fountain does to in any way flow with bitter and sweet at the same time ,impossible , you fountain is flowing of sweet ,your not serving two masters brother ,, your not a double minded man unstable in all his ways his noooo

just the fullness of god ,,to the perfect man to measure of the stature of the fullness of god is what most of us need and to be filled with his spirit ( if we are honest with our selves )

god bless us

Quote: your fountain is flowing of sweet.

If you would force me to choose between one or the other then I must confess it's not sweet it's bitter... because I cant say my heart is pure..

If you force me to choose a master, then I must confess that I am the master, self is sitting on the throne.

But at the same time I cannot deny the work God has already done in me, and the change he has wrought in me...
