Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind.

The world's standards are not God's standards. They reflect the spirit of the age. So take care that you don't compromise. Don't go along with anything that claims to be in touch with today's culture but has lost touch with God.* Let your sole guiding principle be the will of God, made known in the commandments. God's rules for living are timeless. They are valid and binding for all times, as they come from the eternal God Himself. Follow them, and avoid the snares set by 'the god of this age' and 'prince of this world' (2 Corinthians 4:4; John 12:31 NIV). * 1 John 2:15-17
