Jesus,..washing of feet,....?

E
Elibeth May 12, 2013

Pondering / reflecting on the things that Jesus taught and did about washing feet and reference also concerning of being perfect,..Paul being an example.

The things that Jesus diid while He walked the earth,teaching and doing,.
.
* Healing the blind physically = Healing the blind Spiritually(so we may
have " eyes to see",...Spiritually

* Healing of the deaf = Healing our hearing,..that we may have "ears to hear",.. Spiritually

* .Healing of the lame = That we may be made WHOLE in our walk,..

* Dead =(we were,as Lazarus,bound from head to toe,dead.),And He will give us Life from the dead.

Etc,etc etc,...

And now,..Do we sometimes need our feet washed ?

** John13:9,..
Verse 8,..Peter,..when Jesus was going to wash his feet,did not want Jesus to wash his feet,...and Jesus told him ' If I wash thee not,thou hast no part with me.",...Then Peter wanted Jesus to wash him all over.
And Jesus told him,..." He that is washed,needeth not except to wash his feet,but is entirely clean; "

So,..is it that we are in need to wash one another's feet also ?...our walk ?
Can we really walk,..'out of the Way'..?off the narrow path ?

* Paul', speaking the Truth in love to Peter,...
Gal.2:13, where Peter was showing hypocrisy,..falseness,..dissemination,..
( not walking in Truth)( that no lie is of the Truth),...Was this not Paul washing Peter's feet,....reminding Peter to walk with clean feet before The Lord

* Paul knew that very own walk mattered,...God,though His marvelous Spirit, Showed Paul all these deep knowledge / Truths /Scripture's that we are so grateful for today,and he had favor with God,.yet Paul knew and said,that he must keep his body in subjection.." Lest when he preached to other's ,he himself would be a castaway.',...his walk.

* and then,in Phil.3:12,
Paul,...who counted all things in this life as dung/ nothingness,says,..
Verse 10 Paul says," that I may know Him,(to know Him is eternal Life) and the power of His resurrection,(the resurrected Lord in him,..the kingdom of God),and the fellowship of His suffering,being made conformable
unto His death.( die to self,that he might Live unto God)
Verse 11, if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
** Not as though I had already attained,either were already PERFECT;
but I FOLLOW after,if I may apprehend that for which also that I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Verse 13,Brethren,I count not myself to have apprehended; but this One thing I do,forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth
Unto those things which are before,....verse 14,I press toward THE MARK
for the prize of the HIGH CALLING of God in Christ Jesus.

Do hope you can comprehend my wanderings.

In His love,
elizabeth

Hi elizabeth,

This is some good thoughts, I have pondered on similar thoughts in the past.

When we literally wash each others feet, it is a very humbling experience, having others wash my feet I find very humbling.

I also understand the point that you are equating with being clean but also needing at times a washing of our feet spirtually speaking and I agree.
