Hi brothers and sisters,
You may recall I mentioned with some excitment that my youngest son had recommited his life to the Lord and did so with a passion. He immediatly made a stand which impacted one of his friends who became saved about a month ago.
Jonny started a young peoples meeting to seek Gods face to pray to worship and give God room to move.
Within a week or two Jon and his young friend both had the same vision at the same time. I enquired about the vision from both of them the detail was the same it was exactly the same. Then one of my collegues got saved about six weeks ago and was attending the meeting. Both she and one of hte young leaders both had a very similar vision.
I told them if this was God then they could expect opposition from the most unlikely source even myself or my wife. Not that this was likely but it painted a very real picture of attack from a friendly source.
Two young people attended last night, the girl who is a singer in the church nad her husband who is recently saved but with very little understanding yet. They turned the church kids against Jonys direction to get them spirit filled.
As we are a Pentecostal church it is not expected to be told that we do not really know what the Gifts of the spirit are and certainly there is only one reference to a word of knowledge so we cant know that that is.
The meeting has been killed as far as seeking God it is now a weekly catchup and the diretion has been completly changed.
We can expect the same I think if we as a community start seeking Gods face fasting and desiring him to move a fresh. Opposition from within is not unusual but is to be expected and is a confirmation that we must be on the right track.
Wishing all well, as you know I believe we are in the beggining of the biggest reformation in history.
