Prayer for those in tornado's path

Just wanted to ask some few who feel led to join me in prayer for those who are going through the difficult and painful aftermath of today's storm in Oklahoma. Two schools were hit and destroyed...there is much need for JESUS in these times.

God bless

I am joining you in pray. I was watching http://kfor.com/on-air/live-streaming/ and the weather guy said the only modern comparison would be the devastation of Joplin, Missouri.

The Moore hospital took a direct hit as well as in Joplin. (Edit: I heard that somewhere but I can't find it again so this has not been substantiated)

God have mercy.

God bless,
Lisa

Thank you for the link Lisa.

What sorrow for those families. I cannot imagine all of this, so many tornadoes in such a few days. The devastation looks very much like what we experienced in South Florida in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew, but we did not have that many deaths, perhaps because we had so much warning and time to prepare.

These families will need a lot of prayer.

Two years ago when an EF-5 tornado hit Tuscaloosa I went over there to do some business a few weeks later. As I was waiting I decided to drive around and look at the damage wrought by the storm. It was so bad, so depressing I could hardly wait to get out of there. AND...I am not one who is easily disturbed by storms.

Yes, one will do well to pray that people will learn from this event, listen to what God is saying.

This morning I woke up with a heavy burden on my heart to pray for these families in this disaster as well as for the many who are lost and still have future events to face. I have a very real and deep sense that so much more is about to come. Its not something I can fully put into words just this intense need to pray as I have not done before...to pray for the lost and to pray for strength from HIM. I am not trying to suggest that I know the future in any way just sharing what is on my heart.

As one who lives on the fringes of tornado alley I am deeply afftectex by those who suffered on Oklahoma City. We in Ark. are no stranger to tornadoes. But the magnitude of tbis particular event measured above 4 and the base was over 2 miles wide. I think this took even Oklahoma City by surprise. The magnitude and destruction of tbis tornado is staggering.

May God give mercy and comfort on those that have been so impacted by this horrific event. May we keep them in our prayers.

Bearmaster.
