QUOTE:
"Well, I seen some deer in far field, I got the gun out not to shot the deer, but to look at them closer with the scope. all of a sudden my little nimrod broke down crying saying daddy don't shot the deer don't shot the deer."

I understand your son. I am the same way. I don't see how anyone can shoot such a beautiful animal, but then I think the same of any animal we have had slaughtered for meat. If I would not be a Christian I would be sympathetic with PETA's philosophy concerning animals.
My husband is not a hunter either, but our sons were when young, owning all kinds of guns and hunting every winter. They kept our freezers supplied with meat for years. Now that they are adults they rarely go hunting. Don't know why unless it is for lack of time. Their interest is no longer there.
While Washer did not come out and speak much about spanking, he talked about parenting - a general overall picture of the task. I get the sense from him that he loves being a father even though it is a difficult task, one taken seriously.
I have heard many sermons on parenting and each speaker will approach the subject differently. I like that - proves the job is so vast, so complex - just like people. Proves once again that man is not a machine but a reflection of their creator.
God bless.
