Memverse.com keeps track of all your Bible memory verses. It is entirely online so there is no software to download, there are no flash cards to carry around, and, best of all, you will be gradually building up a library of biblical knowledge. It's also free, and always will be.
When you first login, you will be given the opportunity to add memory verses. We recommend starting with about 6 to 10 memory verses and then gradually adding memory verses over time as you memorize the ones in your repertoire.

I have been using the Memverse website for some scripture memor for the last few days.. It is a good resource to aid in getting the word of God into one's heart and mind. But as I look at the leader boards and see those who have memorized several thousand verses. A question occurs. Is it possible that quality of verse meditation is being sacrificed for quantity of verses memorized?
I was introduced to scripture memory through the Navigators. There we were taught to hide God's word into our hearts through scripture memory and meditation. That is think on what you are memorizing. What is the verse saying to you? Often times we were enouraged to memorize no more than a verse a week and meditate on that verse throughout the week. By the end of the week that verse would be fixed fiirmky in your heart and mind.
In my 40 plus years walking with Jesus I have seen that those who manifest the life of Christ are those who have meditated on his word. His word is so incarnated in their lives they become bibline as Bunyon did. Interesting enough Bunyon did not embark on a scripture memory program. But he had read the word so much that is was part of his life and coversation.
I am certainly not knocking scripture memory and would encourage it in any way possible. This memverse is a good tool. But just exhorting for quality over quantity.

I agree dear Brother, very good point. This is the trap I fell into as a new Christian trying to memorize the entire NT, the Lord had to step in and readjust the reason for why I was memorizing His Word. I think it is easy to fall into the trap of trying to pursue some achievement rather then hiding His Word in our heart at His pace for the sake of meditation and renewing our minds. I posted a similar post on this subject with some quotes including this one which can apply to Scripture memory as well:

Too much reading, however, and too little meditation, may produce the effect of a lamp inverted; which is extinguished by the very excess of that aliment, whose property is to feed it."

Do agree Arthur. Had some contact with Josiah at Memverse on the subject of quantity vs quuality. He said he fell somewhat into the trap. I think Memverse is a good tool for scripture memory. I intend to use it. But will move at a slower pace to meditate on the verses I am memorizing.
Devotional books and scripture memory, as well any treasure such as Sermon Index should be tools to help us in our walk with Christ. But should be used with self control. And that is a fruit of the Spirit.
