know your enemies...

As I was facing my own “stuff” today, this was a thought I had and wanted to pass it along to y’all. Do you know (REALLY KNOW) that it is absolutely necessary that you see the temptations and sins that plague you as your ENEMIES?? They are not “just the way I am” or part of the “you” that has been reborn. They are ENEMIES and MUST be seen as such if you plan on actually being RID OF THEM forever (instead of coexisting with them). When you see them as enemies of yourself and of Jesus, then you can CRY OUT to Him for His rescue and aid. You can’t take care of those enemies. NO WAY. But Jesus... He is ABLE!!! Something wonderful that we can praise Him for, don’t you think??

Some good seeds to think upon. These thoughts were shared with me from another and I thought I would share them with some few here.

God bless you as you ponder these seeds

Amen, sister! Thanks for passing those thoughts along!

It is so easy to attribute something to "just being the way I am". But this is not the way the Lord thinks about it!

The gospel has come to us so that we can be "conformed to the image of Christ".

Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes its so simple we can't believe it:

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

Refrain

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Amen sister!

Everything in us that is not like Jesus is indeed our enemy, and we cannot accept it as just being certain personality traits that we have inherited.

As we see the corruption of the old sin nature, we should also see the cross of Christ. At the cross Jesus Christ bore our sins, and not only was he made to be sin for us, but we were crucified with Him. Our old sin nature has been crucified with Him, and with every rising of the flesh, we look upon the finished work of Jesus Christ, and we no longer have to live by the dictates of the old sin nature, but can live and walk in newness of life.
