The Gospel Call is not just to make converts but Disciples!

Greg shared:Many evangelicals in our day simply believe that to have someone confess Christ with their lips is fulfilling the great commission.

There are great campaigns to simply have people say a quick prayer and make confession. Though salvation begins with this confession that Jesus Christ is Lord yet it is not enough for someone to only be converted, for each convert should be a disciple who follows the Lord daily. “Then He said to them all: ‘Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.’”

Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.”

Therefore, true conversion results in Christians who live for Jesus Christ every hour of the day. These are the true Christians who are love-slaves of Jesus Christ and who know they have been bought with a great price.

Therefore, serving and pleasing God is their aim everyday.

Sadly many hear about JESUS much like the would some new fad or trend, they listen, they try HIM on for awhile and then become bored or "fill in the blank" and move on to the next "fad". JESUS is not a trend and those who truly encounter HIM (not just hear about HIM) are changed in such a way that new life is created!! A true disciple of CHRIST does not have to make time for JESUS...JESUS is the one purpose in their life that all else revolves around. A true disciple is one who has laid down his life, died to their sin, repented and been forgiven, cried out to HIM and now willing takes up their cross by HIS strength daily, moment by moment walking, submitting, breathing, living unto JESUS!!
