Aggressive Evangelism

Please pray for my Church, we are going out on the day before Easter (Saturday, March 26) to do some open-air preaching/witnessing/singing downtown. After that we will go door-knocking for a time. Pray for me in the following regard:1) That it will not rain!!! The weather channel is calling for rain that day (granted, such is still far off for them to make an accurate prediction)2) That the church will be stirred to do the task3) That we would minister in the power of God and see sinners come to the Lord and to see the backslidden restored.

Amen!

Just to let you guys know, today we went out to the streets to preach and sing for nearly 2 hours this afternoon. A total of 7 people went out to sing and pass out tracts (3 of the people were 14 and younger), and I preached strongly for about 20-30 minutes. God gave us good weather, and as we preached some people in the nearby shops (perhaps the owners?) came out and listened some, and then would disappear back into the stores. Several people stopped to listen for a while, and several Christians came by to encourage us in the work. We did not see as much activity as we hoped, as there was not very much foot activity between 11 and 1. A few dozen people did get to hear the gospel preached and sung. Continue to keep us in prayer, that we would find other locations to preach the gospel at that perhaps have a greater amount of foot traffic.

Know this that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. I preached in front of a bar for many years and most of the time I didn't see anyone even listening. Unknown to me or our street team there was a guy on the 3rd floor of an apt. who used to sit in the mindow and listen to us. Years later I found out that he'd given his life to Christ and got off drugs and became a christian truckers fro Christ and now lives on the road working and witnessing for Jesus. So be encouraged and don't stop going, your witness is more important than you'll ever know. God Bless Bro. Daryl

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I forgot to update this (been very busy), but we had a pretty good day that day we went out. If memory serves correct, we had a total of 7 folks to go out sing/hand out tracts/preach. 3 of the folks were kids from 12-16, my girlfriend and I (22 each), and then two elders in our church (whose age shall remain secret). We only had a handful pay attention (there was much less street traffic than anticipated), and the Lord gave us good weather (as soon as we left though, it started raining!) Also, another brother from our church and I went door knocking and were able to knock on about 30 doors in 45 minutes, handing out tracts at each one. It was his second time door knocking ever. Originally we agreed to take turns at each door, but eventually I found him getting so excited that he knocked on about 4 or 5 doors in a row before I decided to get a head start on him as we left one house! We plan on going back shortly to finish the other half of the neighborhood.Going out this last time door knocking, I'm starting to see the need to seriously consider learning Spanish. We knocked on 30 doors, about only 10 or 15 had anybody answer Saturday afternoon. Of those that answered, 2 of them had their kids answer, as the parents spoke little to no English, though their children were fluent. What was especially shocking was that this was a middle-class sub-division, where one would suppose that anybody to get that far along financially, would know English to a certain extent. Thankfully though, our brother decided to bring a few Chick Tracts in Spanish.
