I read this quote but don't really agree with it because there are many Bible apps for handheld devices.

"One major player emerges, whether it’s Apple or Google or YouVersion,” he said. “It has its drawbacks in the sense that it gives people fewer options and it definitely consolidates power and kind of clumps that power into a few people’s hands."

I tried YouVersion but like Olive Tree much better.

I am one of the 100 million downloads of YouVersion, but you have to download it to review it. So, I downloaded it, reviewed it and don't use it. What would be good to know is how many active USERS of YouVersion there are. There are 4 million active User of OliveTree (for example).

PocketSword is another good one.

Total downloads of PocketSword, just in the last 30 days, is 133,000. So, downloads don't mean much, active users, do.

It's nice to see the NY Times spreading the news about a tool for Bible Study. It's nice to see the NY Times even quoting a snippet of the Word in its headline.

I use mysword. available for android only. full versions of strongs, Brown driver Briggs, Thayers, commentaries, etc. it works much like esword does on your computer. by far my favorite.
