I don't really like mpeg to much. It distorts color and the file sizes seem to be larger. I like Mpeg2 but the this is a format for full screen playing.Beaux

MPEG1 compression is generally considered to be very good for computer use, in fact the Windows Media video format (ASF) uses MPEG compression. MPEG2 is higher resolution and therefore larger file sizes than MPEG1 but is not neccessarily for full-screen viewing.I just thought it might be helpful to offer the files in this format for those Unix/Linux users out there. Also, Windows Media Player, RealAudio Player, and Quicktime will all play MPEG1 files. Thanks,Ron

Ron, I know near to 0 about Linux/Unix. Can it not play the asf format?I had played with the mpeg, real media, quicktime, and I think some others. The ASF just seemed to give me the best overall video for with the smallest video size. I think the ASF at 250Kbps is going to be just too big for streaming. Quality is pretty good but seems to need more bandwith than just 250. I have 1.5 mbps and it still pauses on me. We will probably stick with the 100Kbps. I am converting a Ravenhill video called "What is your life?" (worth watching) I will try to put out a mpeg file and get Greg to post it to see how folks like it.Thanks for the input Ron,Beaux

:roll:Here is the link to the survey again, Check out the survey at :Poll on Video Format

sermonindex Oct 13, 2003

the results for the poll are here as of oct 12/02:100kps ASF (Windows Media) 14 % (4) 250kps ASF (Windows Media) 51 % (14) 40kps RM (Real Media) 11 % (3) or all of the above! 22 % (6) I think you are right beaux the 100kps is better for streaming but I think the 250kps is good to have also so people can download it and watch it fullscreen, etc.
