Most of us already know that "Easter" was a pagan celebration of spring which drew its name from its patron Goddess Eastre (whose earthly symbol was a bunny). In the pagan worship of Eastre, during this celebration of spring, eggs were wrapped in gold leaf etc. (as a sign of rebirth) and given as gifts. So, in our church last year we decided to stop using the name Eastre. We called Sunday 'Resurrection Sunday' - and loved it!This year, we are doing the same, and though it is a small thing, it did bring us much joy to see God glorified above this pagan diety.Dan/\\/\\/\\
