For such men are…. false apostles,…. deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then,
if his servants …..masquerade as servants of righteousness 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

These deceitful leaders are people energized by Satan, appear to accomplish great things for God. appear to be righteous but in reality reject godliness and deny it power 2 Tim 3:5 These men disguise themselves as apostles of Christ and servants of righteousness, they imitate genuine ministers of Christ. All believers must beware of these misleading ministers and leaders and not be deceived by their charisma, bible memorization of scripture, or eloquent speech.
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. BY THEIR FRUIT YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM. Matthew 7:15-16
They look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. They appear to people as righteous, beautiful and attractive on the outside yet with foulness, pride, lust and wickedness and corruption hidden inside. Discern character, do they show a sincere and pure devotion to God? Do they manifest the fruit of the Spirit. hate wickedness and love righteousness and cry out against sin, do they honour Christ, and lead the church into sanctification. Has anyone been fooled by a false apostle, what was your experience.

Satan does not want the true gifts of the Spirit in operation because he knows that this is God's means to edify the Church, so he either counterfeits the gifts, causes men to misuse the gifts, or uses bible men such as John MacArthur to teach that the gifts have passed away and or not for today.

This is why discernment is so neccessary in the Body, not only to detect the counterfeit, but to know what is the real thing.

We are exhorted in scripture to "prove all things, and to hold fast to that which is good."

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them." (matthew 7: 15-20).

Many false Apostles, prophets, and teachers can be recognized by their pride. The are out to promote self, and they constantly make appeals for money. They appeal to the fleshly desires in men, and preaching on repentance or the cross is foreign to them. Also, we must ask the question of what they are teaching lines up with the Word of God. False teachers are notorious at taking the Word of God out of context.
