can a cesasenst believe in the gift of prophecy

what are you thoughts ,,,my thoughst is many cesasenest like sproul and washer ,have recieved and excepted the gift with relising ,,maby it should be called a word of knowlage , iwould concider it prophecy either way just a particular type

would any one like to join with rc sproul and and give a word of knowlage that came to them ,either through some one else ,or them selves

wile im at it,,, did any one else know that paul washer the cesasenst ,his conversion was triggered of through a word of knowlage or prophecy like this

Everyone needs to be honest with themselves, brother and either a person believes in prophesy and the way "God" intended it (the whole counsel of God) or they don't.

Here is an example of someone explaining it away: a pastor years ago where I went to church told me that he prophesied every Sunday, that preaching was prophesying. And I said but you don't believe in women preachers. He was like, "What's that got to do with it?" I quoted Joel 2.28 & Acts 2.17 to him, "I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY..." Of course he couldn't agree with his own interpretation of scripture!!

What I'm trying to say, brother, in the most kind way, is that you (and R.C. Sproul and others), can't have it both ways. You can't say a word of prophecy is a word of knowledge only so "you" can feel better about accepting it.

what do i have to do with this lisa , im a carsmatic and allways have been even before i was converted i believed i miricals ,,,,dont put me in the boat with those who denie sign gifts ill never deni that how can i when i operate in those things

no my point was to say what iv said that though some cesanists say they dont believe ,some of those do believe in more then we may think just as sproul said in that audio clip ,,,,what he experenced was what many say has passed away

a word of knowlage receved and spoken ,is a form of prophecy ,,often times even predicting future ,pointing out sins or giving direct guidence to heal others or go somewhere it is still the word of the holy spirit like any prophecy

sister i wont touch on the subject about woman preaching, and prophecy only being preaching the gosple ,,but ill just say that prophecy is much more then just preaching and exorting others ,,,it is as much in my eyes as ,any fresh THUS SAYS THE LORD ,,

sister with all due respect i think you tared me with same brush that you tar all calvinists with , because you may have seen me talk about my the sourveny of god and others points of doctrines that may line up with calvinism

First off, I did not know that you were NOT a cessationist. I was NOT tar and feather you nor was I trying to be mean-spirited in my answer; I thought that you were asking an honest question and I was trying to give an honest answer but I got it wrong and I’m sorry.

Yes, I did listen to his story. A man had a dream and Sproul actually obeyed it. I liked what his friend said, "You know, God does the strange things even in the most staid Calvinist homes!”

but ill just say that prophecy is much more then just preaching and exorting others ,,,it is as much in my eyes as ,any fresh THUS SAYS THE LORD ,,
