Testimonies of God without human action

These are quotes from someone on twitter after I asked them about why did they didn't believe in prayer. I want to make a blog post with some testamonies which show answered prayer in the genuine and not in the hopeful.

There are some on this board who portray yourselves as every seeking God and in that you should be seeing God moving in your life in various ways. Please share some testimonies which I can use to share regardless of whether this person thinks they are dumb or not. I plan to share it with them but also to all on my twitter feed and I never know if anyone will respond.

Funny how unbelievers whine about the lack of magic tricks from God, and are totally unimpressed with the absolute impossible miracle of recombinant RNA/DNA. They can accept the concept of the laws of thermodynamics, but can't accommodate the fact that life itself defies those laws.

And they want God to do circus tricks? They are doomed to disappointment until they cry out to him in repentance.

They will probably not be impressed with my story:

Back in the 60's I had "felt led" to attend a Bible school. I didn't have much money but I had scraped enough together to go for the first semester. I didn't know how I was going to pay for the second semester, but I had an idea- I could sell my motorcycle and maybe come up with enough money to stay in school.

I took the bike to a local motorcycle shop and the owner agreed to let me sell it on consignment. I agreed and left the bike there, went back to classes and casually asked God to help sell the bike. Over the next few weeks I called regularly to see if anyone had shown interest in the bike, but the answer stayed negative. Winter was setting in, and since it was cold in Missouri It wasn't surprising that no one was looking to buy a motorcycle.

I was asking $400 for the bike, and the last day was quickly approaching for me to turn in the $365 tuition for the coming semester. Nothing but quiet over at the bike shop.

Still praying, I began to inventory my clothing for the ride home to Minnesota if the bike didn't sell. It was December, a Friday afternoon, and the money was due at the bursar's office by noon on Saturday. I went to bed in the dorm, knowing that in the morning I would have to get a ride over to the shop, pick up the bike, and head north.

For what it's worth, I didn't have a helmet or a windshield. It was not going to be a pleasant ride. Motorcycles don't normally do what I was going to do, but I figured I had better learn to trust God.

There was a phone down the hall in the dorm, and it rang early that Saturday morning. Someone came and got me- it was the owner of the motorcycle shop.

I couldn't believe my ears when he said "How would you like cash for your motorcycle this morning?"

"How much?"

"365 dollars."

"I'll be right there!"

Shaking, I got a ride to the shop, signed the bike away, and took the precise amount of $365 to the bursar's window at 11:35 am, 25 minutes before the drop dead cut off.

That may not do anything for your friends, but this event in 1964 remains a treasure in this old man's heart. He was there, He knew what had to be done, but the timing was important. Money is easy, but convincing a silly college student that He was a God who could be trusted was the most important thing in the mix.

I was driving in the Winter in the Scottish Highlands with my brother when I lost control of the car. I had to steer it on ice into a stone bridge to keep us from falling into the river below. But we knocked a big section of the bridge into the river.
Someone driving by just after the accident told us that it was a bridge of 'Scientific interest' and very costly.

When I got home I realized that my car insurance hadn't been renewed and a week later I got a letter from the Scottish Council in Argyll telling me I would have to pay for the rebuilding work on the bridge.

I got on my knees in my room in fear. But I didn't get very far in my prayers before I felt the Lord show me not to worry as it was dealt with.

And I never did hear from the Scottish council again but that answer to the prayer was really special.

Although it would be nice to see someone come to the knowledge of God in this it isn't necessarily my purpose. My purpose is to sow seed while asking these Atheists their thoughts and what it would take for them to believe it was a true answer to prayer.

back when i was baptised in the holy spirit i was going thirough a time of just wanting to pray and be with god some times i was spending three hours a day in prayer and about the same in the bible ,,,, my work ran out ,but i decided that i was going to just contine to seek god throughout the day so decided i would have a break from work till it came to the point that i had little money left in the bank and relised that i rather need a job ,, so the next day i got up early and prayed as did nomaly ,but this time told god i though that i need a job and that i havent prayed up till this point ,but i trusted that we would suply a job for me and that i would start to look for a job that day ,,,,,

i thought to my self ill even drive around to job sites and ask if they need a render or a labourer

then i felt that before i go on my hunt ill drive down to the esplinard which is like our beach front near our city center ,,,because i had some closes times with god praying there ,,, so my aim in my heart was seek first the kingdonm of god and all thoses things will be added ,,as jesus said

so wile i was driving along the beach praying and ejoying gods creation out of the corner of my eye some how i noticed i person point strait at me ,,i look closely and he kept pointing and as i drove by i noticed it was a contruction site tucked away a long the road i was driving on ,,,,,

i turned my car around and drove back to where i saw the person point at me ,and then saw it was an old work mate how had noticed my car and me driving from a good distance

i stoped whent and said hello and the gyes said want a job our boss needs renderers ,,i smiled and said heliluya in my heart ,,,spoke to the boss and started the next morning

it may not sound like much when im telling the story ,,,but it was the lord at work in answering my moring prayer

ill just add to that about two weeks ago ,,my father had and accident wile working someone droped a steel braket on his foot near his toe ,,,from a heait of aboit 2 meters of the ground ,, it stuck his hard and he thought he may have broken it he limped up stairs and thats were i saw him ,,,the bruising was starting to come out at that point

in obedence to the bible ..i layed my hands on his foot and prayed in jesus name for the pain to go and to be healed ,,,,,

i asked him how did it feel he said the pain was leaving so ,i rebuked the pain again and comanded it to go right now and for the bruising to disolve ,and he said it feels good now ,,,,,,,,,by that night there was no bruising but only a little scratch ,and the pain had compleatly gone

three days later was going with him to get the paper in the morning ,,he told me that it was a mirical because he been working in the construction game ,,and he said that it should have taken weeks before he would be able to walk propely ,,becasue he implied he has injured him self many times and knows what to expect from 50years experence

Prayer by itself can be a dangerous notion, as there are many spirits lurking and waiting for someone to deceive. Prayer that first acknowledges who God is, and that Jesus Christ is the Name by which those prayers are heard, are genuine avenues through which God can bless.

At the same time, spirits not from God listen and respond as well, as any occult practitioner will admit- though they do not truly know who and what they are dealing with.

I say this because if your friends are atheistic, prayer could be for them a road to destruction. Is this a fair assessment?

Your last sentence, I have had several people tell me something similar but for me my intent is to use testimonies like the Gospel. I want to present real life situations of God moving to prick the hearts of these Atheist's. Doesn't matter if they don't agree. Not every fish bites but you wait long enough and something may/will happen.

These are social media acquaintances during the past 2 days and I am have a peaceful dialogue with them. Simply asking them questions about their background. I want to know where they are coming from and why they are pushing what they are pushing. I was them to share their experience with me as I share experiences with them.

Not looking for a lecture. Only testimonies of answered prayer with minimal human involvement so that an unbeliever cannot point a finger as a human being saying they are the ones who did it and not God.

One of the most profound answers to prayer is the one where I asked the LORD to give me a love for his WORD. He gave me a love for all of it! Even Numbers has a lot of inspiration if you look for it! One does not read to learn facts, although that is an important by-product, one reads to learn to know more about God, who He is and how He works. You read, learn and it becomes easy to see God working all around us. This will fill one with delight and joy - unlike anything else you can read. And God loves it, too - I have sensed his smile numerous times.

This all begins by realizing a lack in your heart and asking God to fix it and how He love to fix this problem! :-)

Did you not understand my post as a testimony? That is what it is meant to be - I did not love the WORD like I thought I should so in response to this lack I asked the LORD to give me a love for it and He did.

It isn't something I could use because many have read the bible and actually became Atheist as a result. If you shared something that was more practical to a reader it would help.
My share is about a woman I used to write as a pen pal. I write scripture into my letters and she hated it over the course of 6 weeks. One night while sleeping she said she heard voice fighting and saying 'She is mine, NO she is mine!' She woke up screaming and shouting 'God Save Me' and she said the voices left and she felt different inside. She was so excited about that that she called information to find out my phone number to call me. She lived in New York.

John, we had an atheist in our town who knew the Scriptures better then most Baptists. He was a retired secret service agent and very intelligent. He could skillfully argue any point you want to make with him. Yes, I am well aware of these people's skills.

However, I am still convinced that if a person is truly honest and wants to know, God will reveal it to him/her if you but ask and then listen. The problem with this local atheist is he worked to justify his rebellion. Not exactly honest. I think this is the core of most people's rejection of the WORD: they work to discredit it to accommodate their sin.

I guess I would ask them why they do not want to believe? Do they enjoy their immorality too much? Are they working to stifle the resulting guilt? Ravi Zacharias says this is the core of people's rejection of the authority of the WORD. And I believe him.

I am a bit troubled in soul. I put out a call for testimonies on several board and even in an email to someone. So far this board has given me the most and not many people have said anything. It causes me to wonder if answered prayer is too personal to share or if answered prayer hasn't been answered at all and the sermons on prayer are good to listen to but not really practice and experienced in life.

Maybe you are asking for the wrong thing DEADn ? I don't really think that Prayer to God is just a time which is set aside it's also the deep cry of our hearts.

People have awesome testimonies and God answers many cries of our hearts daily. It's just that i thought you were asking for the answer to a particular prayer request.

I heard Gods audible voice when I tried to commit suicide but I didn't pray.

In my case I am looking for any testimony anyone has had that resulted in minimal human doings so that a person could not say that person was bound to have that happen. Not sure why you thought I was looking for a certain prayer.

This is really blowing my mind. Funny because I talked to a guy who attends Church of Christ and the way he reacted was 'How do you know it was God'. Led me to wonder if he has every seen answers to his prayers, if he even prays at all.

I didn't know or believe in the existence of God. None of my family ever mentioned such a thing. And I had a real fear of death. This had made me depressed for 5 years without a break. From the age of 13 to 18.
I began contemplating suicicde and still had no awareness or warning from a God that he existed.
When that day came when I would take my life I was sitting in the armchair. I began to decide how I would do it. Then a voice out of nowhere said to me : "what about God" ?

I began to argue about the suggestion of such a thing. Then I became bitter then angry and determined to see it through.
So I went out into the bathroom and emptied a full bottle of large white tablet into my hand. Then I raised them to my mouth with tears coming down and knowing this was the end.

Just then the presence of this being entered into the bathroom. And that person communicated with me that God was about to speak with me.
Just then I heard God speaking and his voice was just like thunder. With the same sounds. God told me not to do what I was doing because he had a special purpose for me.

In Hs voice was a love I didn't know anything about. I wasn't sure if it could be possible that God really had a plan for me so I thought to myself "shall I still take them?" No one had ever told me that God doesn't lie so I had reached the point where I doubted anything positive that could happen to me. That's why i doubted.

He knew what I was thinking about still taking the tablets and he communicated wth me by transmitting a thought to me that he wouldn't let the tablets have any effect on my body.
So I could see it was pointless trying to take them.

He showed me that the reason my life was so bad didn't have anything to do with my mum but it was because I was sinful. I was stunned by this.

I had never read a Bible so the hearing of thunder in Gods voice wasn't something I made up. I believe it mentions it somewhere that He speaks like this.

Six month later I gave my life to Crist after listening to a preacher in our city centre.
