Less Singing and More Praying Please

Yes, it is. The degeneration of the church in the West must unplug the instruments and come to a place of silence before a Holy God and recognize that God has left the old wine skins. We must return to the message of the Bible, the Word of God, our Lord Jesus Christ and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, weeping over the wasteland the organized church has become. I believe that God is awakening the sleeping church.
"Yet even now," declares the LORD, "Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning;
And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil.Who knows whether He will not turn and relent And leave a blessing behind Him, Even a grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God? Joel 2:12-14

May we be faithful to Him in these last days.

Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones is one that can now be heard again, along with many voices on this website to speak truth. He might be "The Doctor" Great Britain needs instead of "Doctor Who". Thank God we can still hear these followers of Jesus from the last century via the internet.

If you have ever experienced the Heavenly City, the New Jerusalem, the Body of Christ with Jesus Christ functioning in it as the true Head, and if you have some how been taken captive, away to the Babylonish church, then you will weep when you remember Zion. How can you sing, when Jesus Christ is not the Living Head in the midst of His Body? How can you sing when the centrality and person of Christ has been usurped by men?

Babylon's daughter is the false church/religious system that will be destroyed. Psa 137:8

A small remnant left Babylon to rebuild Zion, and a remnant in every generation and even today are dwelling in Zion.

The Lord is calling to all who have ears to hear to leave religious structures that do not honor or glorify Him. The king of Babylon is not Jesus Christ. The Lord's city, His body, is Zion.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The enemy of the Church has always been religious Babylon.

Though you cannot sing now, you will be able to if you leave Babylon.

Ezr 3:10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

The foundation in Babylon is not Christ, so there is nothing to sing about.

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1Cor 3:11

Only the sound of forced singing can be heard from the "worship leader" commanding the crowd to stand, raise their hands, sing, dance or some other gyration like the conductor of an orchestra.

Psa 137:3 For there they that carried us away captive REQUIRED OF US A SONG; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

Brother, I understand your burden and your heart, it is the Lord's burden. it is very sad the escapades done in the name of Jesus Christ that are leading many astray. The Lord is using these caricatures to try and test men's hearts.

The Lord is calling people out of Babylon and using servants like you.

We must all help people differentiate between the holy church and the worldly church. Between the true Christ and the false Christs by preaching the pure word.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21

At a time like this, at an appalling time like this, with crime and violence, and sin, and perversions, God’s name desecrated and the sanctities being spat upon, the whole state of the world surely says that this is not a time for singing, this is a time for preaching….It is almost true of us to say plain speaking and high thinking are no more. We are just singing. We are wafting ourselves into some happy atmosphere. We sing together. My dear friends, this is no time for singing. ‘How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?’ (Ps. 137:4). How can we take down our harps when Zion is as she is?

This is no time for singing, it is a time for thinking, for preaching, for conviction. It is a time for proclaiming the message of God and his wrath upon evil, and all our foolish aberrations. The time for singing will come later. Let the great revival come, let the windows of heaven be opened, let us see men and women by the thousands brought into the Kingdom of God, and then it will be time to sing. ..

Is it not a time, rather, for fasting, for sackcloth and ashes, for waiting upon God in an agony of soul?

IMHO, there is currently too much music and singing in the churches. There is too little of our men praying and fasting in public and private.
