Pardon the title to this thread please, I just couldn't think of a less silly one! :-P I just wondered, with the run up to the general election gearing up over here in old Blighty, what peoples views were concerning our place as Christians within the political arena.Personally, it is something I have to admit I struggle with quite regularly. On the one hand I feel as affected as anyone else in the country, and I want to play my part in seeking out and voting for the candidate I feel most closely represents what I know to be good and true. Yet on the other, I just feel let down and frustrated by all the shinnanigans that go on by all candidates, and realise that they all have agendas very different to the one God calls us to have.I firmly believe that God puts in place every leader there is, to carry out His will for that particular country, because that is what the Bible tells me is true. But even now, I am still uncertain how deeply to get involved myself, for fear of removing my hope from Jesus Christ, and putting it into the grip of a mere mortal. :-o Does this make any sense to anyone out there? After all I know you had an electiif picking out individual politicians mighton recently too over in the States, so what are your thoughts?Oh by the way, I think it might get a little messy if we single out individual politicians for criticism here, so maybe if we just stick to the general principle of how our Christian faith and politics can mix, if at all! :-( God bless,John. :-)
