The Financial Times of London is reporting that Russia is pulling billions of dollars out of Western banks.
I don't think Russia would be doing this unless they were expecting serious reprisals over some serious action against Ukraine that they are contemplating taking.

even the threat of sanctions is wreaking havoc on russian markets. the wealthiest russian has lost billions in the last couple of weeks.
If i was a russian and had billions in western accounts that might get frozen due to sanctions, I would be moving that money too.
not sure why this is surprising.
it is working both ways as well-- western investors are pulling their billions of dollars in assets out of russian markets.
