In 1814 the Napoleonic Wars wreaked havoc in Europe. In 1914 WWI wreaked havoc on Europe with the culmination being WWII. Now will 2014 bring havoc with a confrontation with Russia over the Ukraine.
Is there a correlation between 1814, 1914 and now 2014. Or just pure coincidence?

I would say coincidence. Did anything happen in 1614 or 1714?
Besides, nothing has happened in 2014. I don't expect it will but who knows.

Well I meant that nothing overly exciting has come out of that as yet. We shall see what happens. It's not like the Cold War days. The west is very economically entwined with Russia now. But we shall see.
i think it would be safe to say that any war no matter what year it happens will cause havoc. i do think things are happening father fast with Russia and i do believe it has very much to do with the times we are living in. while its true we are more economically tied to one another, its also true that God has used nations in times past to carry out HIS plans for man. we may be seeing that now.

Not wishing to redirect this into some political discussion, but I am continually amazed at the display of naivete, inexperience, and incompetency on display in American foreign policy. It appears that the Russian leadership, who know how international politics is played, will do as it wishes and will suffer only minor consequences.
American bluster and whining will probably not win back the friends we have spurned, and will also not cause panic among our "enemies" if we even know who they might be.
Well, they wanted a New World Order, and they will have one!
